Need to keep the pressure on at the top with Chelsea soon to be without their African quartet.

Apologies for such an early thread creation, but I wanted to get in early to ensure a United win as I've a 100% record after creating the match thread  :nervous:

Kusczack
Rafael Brown Vidic Evra
Valencia Scholes Anderson Obertan
Rooney Berbatov

Might look to give Evra a breather for this one hes played pretty much non stop for a long time now and looks a little bit tired at times....maybe fabio in for Evra but other than that id go with that team to....main thing is keep the front two the same...

Actually Drogba, Kalou and Obi Mikel are available for fulham.

Malouda isn't though.

with him out too you're looking at:

Cech
Ivanovic
Carvalho
Terry
Ashley Cole
Belletti
Ballack
Lampard
Zhirkov
Joe Cole
Anelka

Rooney should be rested for this game. He overworked today after giving away that goal.

Im going to this game, it will be shit

Probably will. It's frustrating trying to get atmosphere going at games like Wigan, as too few people seem to be arsed to join in. K Stand is super for big games, but doesn't get going too much for these sorts (Better than North and South, mind). You in East Tier 2, Bread?

Never get the line-ups right on here, but my general prediction is that we'll win 3-1. Wigan are very inconsistent, but have looked quite poor on the road, and I fancy we've got too much class up front for their defence. They've got some decent attacking options, like Rodallega so I think they might well get one, but I'm fairly confident for this.

I imagine we'll field a full side for this and rest a few for Leeds, with that being a 3rd Round tie (how Fergie tends to do it).

Yes i am! seriously good memory you have there

I think that would be a horrible idea, he and Berbatov need to play with each other as much as possible to get more chemistry and heat up, they will be very important as the season goes on, plus the game isnt til wednesday

No Fletcher? I think Fergie will be more include to start with a Fletcher/Carrick and perhaps bring in Scholes later on and start Anderson against Leeds. We can't afford any more slip-ups and need to take all of our chances. Fulham are a decent team and I can see Chelsea only getting a draw with their form as well.

Haha. I just remember you mentioning it.

Atmosphere at Wigan was notably dire last season and the performance wasn't great. We were a bit fortunate to win that one.

Hopefully we'll carry on Wednesday as we left off in the second half against Hull, though.

yer that, boro and pompey have to be the worst game to be at at OT last yr

I think its pretty likely we will be playing a similar team to the Hull game, perhaps swap Giggs for Park. Owen will get his chance in the cup game.

Leave the Chelsea crap for the football forum!

Rest Evra, Giggs and Valencia, give De Laet a run out as he'll cover Obertan better than Rafael would. Is Anderson out? If he's available just drop Welbeck. As for Valencia, he's played a lot, just like Evra, so a rest shouldn't hurt. He was crap against Hull anyhow, though quite a few others were too.

-------------PIGgy------------
De Laet--Brown---Vidic---Fabio
Obertan-Fletcher--Scholes-Park
------Berbatov----Rooney-----

Subs: Foster, Evra, Rafael, Carrick, Giggs, Owen, Welbeck

How exactly does the identity of the starter of a match thread influence the result of a football game?

Play the strongest team possible, we need a good run of wins and consistent line ups

PIG

Rafael
Vidic
Brown
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Fletcher
Park

Rooney
Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Fabio, De Laet, Anderson, Giggs, Obertan, Owen

Keep the momentum going in terms of pairings:

Vidic and Brown, Fletcher and Carrick, Rooney and Berbatov.

Park and Obertan in on the wings.

Goals here methinks.

Valencia should play against his old club.

Aye, I reckon he may well do. But his form has dropped off a little of late. Not really a major criticism, but as someone else has pointed out, he along with Evra have played a heck of a lot of football this season.
