Manchester United vs Arsenal

Passing was horrible for the majority of the first half. Long balls to Rooney doesn't work for us.

That is why we need the hold up man of Berbatov. Cannot understand Fergies reasoning for dropping him when he's been our stand out player. In fact I'd even go as far to sub Owen on for Valencia and have Rooney play either to the left or right.

how did Arshavin cost 12 mil

No one thought he would be a success outside Zenit.

Bit gutted tbh, i thought we'd done very well but our possession in the final third let us down. Giggs and Carrick imo have been poor boths passing has been below their standard and i would much rather see Gibson/Anderson and Berba on for those two, the rest of the teams been good but Rooney has been really isolated at times

Giggs has been terribly wasteful. Needs to come off, whether for Owen or Berbatov.

Fletcher and Evra have been the stand outs so far... More players need to up their game.
Agree about Giggs. He's found himself in such a good breaking positions to set someone up. Rooney's never going to work as a lone striker, i just don't the point. And i worry for Carrick, he looks half the player he is at his best.

We need more players up front, every time we build an attack, we have only Rooney to aim for and we lose possession early. Arsenal haven't bossed the game at all, we had better possession. If we get clicking from Midfield to our strikers well, there's no reason why we can't score a couple here.

fecking hell....

This one up front is not really working out. When we break its as if we're Bolton, the guy with the ball has no target other than Rooney whos surrounded by two center backs.

Our passing was poor for most of the half. Giggsy is trying too many impossible passes. But that may be due to us not having enough men in attack.

The Arse did not create too much either. A strike out of nothing from Arshavin and the other time when Foster flapped were their only real chances.

Evra and Vidic did well this half. The rest need to step it up.

We really need to switch to 2 up front. This is really not working

Carrick has been fecking shitttttt!!!!! Can't see us winning we're attacking with only two players going forward... Once again why no fecking signing that midfielder we all knew we needed!! Good goal though..

The containing game never worked. So there is only one thing to do in the second half.

Agreed with most here about the one up front, clearly a team set out to stop Arsenal, rather than them worrying about us. Great goal from Arshavin tbf.

Final third ball is letting us down and Carrick and Giggs not at the races either it seems.

Giggs, Carrick and Valencia have all be shockingly bad

Fletcher aint been bad and when he's got the ball Nani likewise

Very little between the two sides. As expected in a top 4 clash, and unfortunately poor goalkeeping is to blame for the only goal. Last season it was Almunia's blunder in the CL (and that one by Gibbs too...) and this time it's our own Ben Foster.

I have to say he doesn't look like our future number one. Not only the goal but also piss poor with crosses.

Giggs - terrible performance so far
Carrick - invisible
Foster - no way he should have let that in, piss poor

Sort it out lads.

When will the staff learn that United simply can't play with a lone striker. Rooney is nothing like a Ruud or Saha or Hughes in that mold. He's better off interchanging with another forward or running behind a center forward.

Typical 433 performance

Rooney is isolated
The wingers are doing well but have no one to cross to
The performance hinges on Giggs performing and he's fecked up in a lot of good positions

Giggs - utter cack
Carrick, Valencia - cack

Only evra, Nani and Fletch have shown any intent

Very true, but ive never been a fan of his so anything i say may be bashing the lad... However everyones always going on about how hes got a lot of pace and always wants to beat his man but i've only seen him do that on a few occations.

Thought Nani has had a good game though

Contrary to what I read some posts above, Nani has done well.

Rooney hasn't been shit, he's just had no decent service...except the long balls he is meant to win with two defenders on him

Bad feeling here

We need Rooey in the game more and Giggs and Valencia need to release the ball quicker.
