Manchester United vs. Arsenal

And the fact that Man Utd routinely get away with blatant fouls in the box against us which should have led not only to pens but also to red cards (Vidic being the most notorious repeat offender).

Yeah, I'm not as bothered about that.

Give it a rest you two, maybe you would have a point about decisons if you outplayed us but you haven't done that for about 6 years now. We have a been a class above you for quite some time.

Fletcher shows drive and determined aggression mixed with good technical ability which your lot cant handle, deal with it. You could do with a few players like that, thats if you can hold on to them.

Wouldn't matter, they're all on the payroll, obviously.

I'm pretty sure we used to have Alan Wiley on ours, but then he sadly was forced to retire as a result of his obesity. Maybe they should just allocate every club their own ref, and then you could play him as your joker in tough games.

Hopefully :

Just heard some terrible team news. Is it true?

That Gervinho might be out for this one? :(

Can't believe how well Arsenal fans remember incidents from the past even when they have no bearing on the game. Scoring 5 seconds later and yet it 'made your blood boil'

It's not really relevant to the point though - yes we scored afterwards, but it should still have been given. What would you rather? A penalty, or a free shot from 30 yards?

I think any Fletcher-related injustices against Arsenal are balanced out by the undeserved second yellow which ruled him out of the CL final, no?
If we're playing the 'bring up old grievances' game.

And the fact that Man Utd routinely get away with blatant fouls in the box against us which should have led not only to pens but also to red cards (Vidic being the most notorious repeat offender).

Repeat offender?
There was one handball which should've been red carded, apart from that I can't remember anything.

Tbh Fletcher getting sent off in the CL semi-final for that non-penalty makes everything you could possibly have against him even.

The CL semi-final decision was one of the poorest I've ever seen. It was just such an unnecessary thing to do, and it must have been difficult for Fletcher to come back after that kind of disappointment. Imagine the anger at not being able to play in the biggest game in world football because of a poor decision. Even I felt sorry for him.

The season before that he pulled Nasri back in the box to stop his hattrick. Red and pen.

Don't remember that all. That was an awesome match though. As was the 2-2 draw.

That was the Fletcher 'you just kick 'em boy' game. 10-foul Fletcher gets no yellow. 1-foul Song goes straight in the book.

That happens sometimes. Even in game against Chelsea last Sunday when referee Clattenburg was being payed from us, Ramirez made a lot of fouls (maybe more than 10) and wasn't booked. Crouch against Milan in Champions is another example. If fouls are not harsh referee doesn't book the player even if he is doing many of them.

It was harsh, but it saved him from a raping ultimately.

I realise there may be a hint of WUM here, but I reckon with Fletcher playing it wouldn't have been such a raping. We might even have won. The gulf in class between him and Carrick at the time was massive.

There's more than a hint of self-delusion in there.

Indeed. It's one thing getting away with hacking through Arsenal midfielders, it's another to expect to get away with doing that to Barca with a continental ref, the UEFA bigwigs in the crowd and the eyes of the world watching.

another one from Pierre's selective memory bank.

Just like the infamous thug that Phil Neville has always been (everyone in the game knows it y'know) Fletcher is obviously on a similar level.

He's Ray Parlour ffs, but a bit better.

That new Arsenal away kit is bloody awful. Looks like it was designed by some drugged-up art student who found a box of his boyhood crayons lying around. No wonder Van Persie fecked off. I wouldn't want to wear that kit either.
