McFred and Maguire. Ole Mk 2.

Would have played Bailly and had Donny next to Fred. Very defensive once again but I guess when you score one and ship nine in last four home games I can see why Carrick has gone pragmatic.

Hopefully Dalot can put in a decent defensive display for the first time ever, otherwise we're in trouble.

Defensively I think Dalot and Telles are as bad a pair of fullbacks as you can get. At this level anyway.

Sapped my confidence a bit seeing that.

Hopefully they can both do their thing at the other end of the pitch.

AWB must be injured. Apart from that no surprises really. We are due a win against Arsenal but if recent games are anything to go by they'll probably get a 90th min handball to win it. Gonna predict 2-0 United, hope the Maguire from the Villarreal game shows up and not the PL one.

Ole would pick Shaw and Greenwood. Binning Shaw is what Carrick has rightfully done as well as giving our 72m summer signing the starts.

Shaw has concussion while Greenwood only just returned from covid. Talk about living in a bubble.

I'll reserve judgement till I see how it lines up but on paper thats just the same 4-2-3-1 nonsense that has been shipping chances.

McFred again. I'm calm that this isn't Rangnick and it is the same bullshitting Ole trend that Carrick is largely responsible for, too.
You're gonna be really upset when both Fred and McTominay keep their spots.

Fred gonna be higher up the pitch though I suspect. Operating next to Bruno.

Don't know how many times I need to say it.

Fred is NOT a DM. Nor is McTominay.

I'm guessing we have many 11/11 correct predictions.

A nice easy one before Sunday which will be very hard to call.

Good to see the pre match moan is alive and well...you can change the manager! but you can't change the endless misery of a matchday thread!

Hate this line up and formation
Olen’s favourite line..we’ve been found out
Let’s see how Bruno and Ronaldo link up together

Okay pal let’s pretend he’ll ever be good enough.
Regardless of that, you actively want him to be bad.

That's not supporting United. With that kind of attitude, you'd might as well change your username to MUFC FO.

I'm really hoping this isn't a Rangnick line up seeing as Maguire's straight back in. It's beyond a joke at this point. For what reason exactly does he deserve to be back in the team?
Has carrick/ole written all over it. Who knows what Ralf would pick but I strongly believe he’ll rate Bailly.

Dalot and Telles at fb. McFred at cm with Bruno vacating his position. Maguire out of form.

Definitely need Ronaldo to score a few tonight because I can't see us keeping a clean sheet with this team.

Dalot is going to have a nightmare of a game.

    No I don’t, I don’t want him to play - quite a difference there. He’s garbage.

McFred again. I'm calm that this isn't Rangnick and it is the same bullshitting Ole trend that Carrick is largely responsible for, too.
Ole's starting 11 selections were never the issue really (minor issues like a lack of rotation for some players), but for the most part, personnel was fine. It's the instructions of how they play together on the pitch, the system the players are part of, the individual instructions for each player (Sancho isn't an inside forward or Fred isn't a DM for example)...

My guess is that Telles and Dalot will contribute towards our goals tonight just because most on here are complaining about them.

Ole would pick Shaw and Greenwood. Binning Shaw is what Carrick has rightfully done as well as giving our 72m summer signing the starts he needs to get going.
Shaw hasn't been 'binned'. He's suffered two concussions in short succession, the latest of which was less than two weeks ago. Of course he hasn't been seen these last few games.

Seeing Maguire back just drains me of all confidence.
2 more assists for him tonight....

I'll reserve judgement till I see how it lines up but on paper thats just the same 4-2-3-1 nonsense that has been shipping chances.

    Looks like a 4-5-1

    De Gea
    Dalot Lindeloff Maguire Telles
    McT
    Sancho Fred Rashford
    Bruno
    Ronaldo

    You said:
I can’t wait for Ralf to do to Maguire what Pep did to Joe Hart

Maybe it would be better to hope for Ralf to do to Maguire what Pep did to John Stones (who's a worse player anyway).

McFred and Maguire. Ole Mk 2.

Would have played Bailly and had Donny next to Fred. Very defensive once again but I guess when you score one and ship nine in last four home games I can see why Carrick has gone pragmatic.

Honestly....who else are you going to play instead of McFred? Give me a convincing answer here too.

It’s the same formation we’ve persisted with for the last few years . I don’t know where you are getting a 4-2-2-2
People on here are worse than Gary Neville. No idea why people keep banging on about a 4-2-2-2. Fairly basic research and a little reading would reveal that Rangnick isn’t wedded dogmatically to a specific formation.

Jeez it reminds of depressing days seeing Jones & Lingard on a United bench. 2022 almost, we need these wages offloading.

Can we have a manager who drops players when they’re out of form, rather than wait for them to be injured or suspended?

I'm really hoping this isn't a Rangnick line up seeing as Maguire's straight back in. It's beyond a joke at this point. For what reason exactly does he deserve to be back in the team?
It was never a Rangnick team last game and it’s not a Rangnick team this game. The guys not even had a single training session with the players ffs.

Can we have a manager who drops players when they’re out of form, rather than wait for them to be injured or suspended?

He's literally been managing them for 3 games and 3 games only. Why would he need to drop anyone?

We have not got one pure defender on this pitch. And sorry Aubemayang is looking at Dalot like a tasty snack. Not filled with confidence watching this. Villarael they passed it round him and skinned him for pace all game. This is alarming.

Neither fullbacks can defend, and I don't particularly rate either CBs defending. Expect Mctominay ans Fred to hold their hands. Hope I'm wrong.

Well I would've thought he'd be available by now but ok then
