Manchester United vs Aston Villa

With Anderson now ruled out as well next to Berbatov, Scholes, Vidic and Rooney this would be my team:

---------Vds-----------
Gaz-Ferdinand-Evans-Evra
-----Carrick-Fletcher------
Ronaldo--Giggs-----Park
---------Tevez----------

If needed we can switch to a more conventional 4-4-2 with Ronaldo up front with Park and Giggs on each wing. Alternatively a 4-4-1-1 with Giggs deep behind the striker and Ronaldo on the wing. Our players interchange positions lots anyway, so I'll guess we'll see a bit of all of these formations.

i don't have a single hesitation in saying that we'll batter them with all our might... and if we score early then it'll definitely be a win...

What could Nani have done to warrant that?

I would too. A win is a win is a win.

Tevez has to come through for us. A good performance could seal him a contract. Not to mention legend status if we go on to win the title.

it might seal him legend status - just not sure about the contract

Paul Parker's predicted a draw so i guess we'll win now for sure.

Alright then, No Rio or Vidic maybe on the cards?

It's Inter leg 1 all over again

I'm still hopeful Rio will make it.

If not though then it looks like a back 4 of

Neville O'Solid Evans Evra

Still good enough to beat Villa imo, especially at OT.

Van der Sar
Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Hargreaves - Scholes - Nani
Rooney - Saha

I just hope we win, I don't care how.

you misses the rooney

rio will be fit .. he walked off .. no sign of any injury
maybe fergie made a call after the second goal went in

manutd.com says berba fighting to be fit for the game .. any chance fergie will risk him from the start .. rooney will play porto ..

Gutted by Anderson getting injured but the rest of the squad seem to have gotten through without any serious injuries (fingers crossed Rio). So i'll stand by my first prediction:

---------------VDS---------------
--Oshea----Rio-----Evans--Evra--
--Ronnie--Fletcher--Carrick--Nani--
---------------Giggs---------------
--------------Berbatov-------------

Berbatov will be fit in time. Tevez and Park will need a rest after having played 2 games and will be jet lagged to shit! That team should be more than capable of taking on Villa. Any news on Neville?

Why?

Park's played[/B] all season.

Nani hasn't[/B].

Where's the logic there?

Nows THATS[/B] a logical question!

Nani is three times the player that Park is. He`s got skill to burn & can turn a game in a moment. Unfortunately, like the majority of footballers, Nani is a confidence player. You can`t attain confidence by sitting on the feckin` bench, so I feel this season is a washout for him & it makes me mad! It should be Park who is the fringe player, not Nani.

I just don`t get this new breed of United fan campaigning for boring bloody drudgery over flamboyant skill. "Park works his socks off for the team, I love the little guy" etc etc ad infinum .. What cock!! Well get this, his mosquito like annoyance value doesn`t wash against the big boys. His inclusion on the teamsheet is a statement of "respect" to the opposition, an attempt of containment rather than getting the other team on the back foot.. bah .. he`s a breaker upper, a spoiler, nothing more! He frightens nobody. He has no vision, he not the brilliant tackling machine much vaunted on these pages, he can`t cross a ball to save his fecking life & as an attacking force United are poorer for having him in the side. No wonder we can`t score for toffee at the moment.

So there`s your fecking logic!! Now hit me with all the Houllier`s you like because I don`t get it & La La La .. I`m not listening!

-------------VDS--------------

Nev------Rio-----Vida-----Evra

Nani-----Fletcher-Carrick---

---------------Giggs-------Ronaldo
-----------Berba------------------

im going to the game, cant focking wait!

berba and rio will start, i dont know what everyones worrying about!

i had the choice to go to this game or the porto game, i chose this one to carry on my 100% record at old trafford in over 20 games, including 2 liverpool games and 2 city games, we won all of them, of course and in that time we've conceeded about 4 goals, not a bad record, so i thought it was best i chose this game to go to as a must win, and i know my record there shalt continue!

COME ON UNITED!

Berbs is fit

Where did you hear he's fit? I haven't seen anything about it.

Does anyone have a list of the banned/injured?

And maybe someone can explain to the person somewhere above, that Saha isn't playing for Manchester United any longer. Maybe he meant Saha would sneak away from Everton and wear a rubber Berba-mask, by not caring 'how' we won.

VDS
Neville Rio Evans Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Park
Ronaldo
Tevez

Definately enough firepower there to attack Villa. We need to go at them from the final whistle.

NANI TO SCORE TO PROVE HIS DOUBTERS WRONG.

So I hear Berba is fit.

VDS
Neville Rio Evans Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Ronaldo
Tevez Berbatov

Nani will score, and Tevez aswell. Berbatov to be a passenger all game and Tevez will start the remaining games with Rooney. Berbatov to be an impact sub and do brilliantly.

Let me be the first to say what a complete spastic you are.

I've heard no news Berbatov is fit for Sunday.

Anyway, team I want to see play:

VDS
G nev
Evra
Rio
Evans
Nani
Carrick
Fletcher
Park
Tevez
Ronaldo

I reckon JOS will probably start ahead of G Nev and Giggs will probably start over Nani. Still a decent side if this happens but I'd prefer Giggs to be saved as an impact player from the bench in this game. Only thing I hope does not happen Sunday is Fletcher on the right if Ronaldo goes upfront. He is much better in the centre and wingers are the one spot where we have options to choose from.

feckin thank GOD that real football is back. None of this international bollocks.

Feels like years since I watched us win now. So come on reds, lets pick it up a bit...

Giggs is a definate starter in this game, anyone who hasn't got him in their starting 11 has lost the plot, the lads had like a week and a half off now.

------------VDS------------
O'Shea Vidic Evans Evra
-Carrick Fletcher Giggs-
Ronaldo--------------Nani
-----------Tevez------------

Edit: Just read Berba is fit:

-----------VDS------------
OShea Vidic Evans Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Giggs Park
---Tevez---Berbatov----

VDS
Neville Rio Evans Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Park
Ronaldo
Tevez

Definately enough firepower there to attack Villa. We need to go at them from the final whistle.
NANI TO SCORE TO PROVE HIS DOUBTERS WRONG.

Would it not be a bit too late?

Well its actually never.

never is not even trying once the final whistle is gone! we can at least say we tried if we have a go at the final whistle, and that is the true meaning of fighting for lost causes!

Man Utd Squad
Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, Neville, O’Shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ronaldo, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Possebon, Carrick, Park, Giggs, Tevez, Welbeck

Starting 11

---------Van der Sar

Neville Ferdinand Evans Evra

Ronaldo Fletcher Carrick Park

--------------Giggs
--------Tevez

Subs
Foster
Fabio
O’Shea
Gibson
Possebon
Nani
Welbeck

The squad from MEN doesnt include Macheda so ive ignored him here. With Scholes, Vidic, Rooney, Berbatov, etc missing we will have to make some changes. Van der Sar will have been rested and will play in goal. Sir Alex has indicated that Neville has a good chance of starting and it would be good for us to get another RB in contention again. The rest of the defence picks itself. No major surprises in midfield either. Ronaldo and Park will be on the wings as they have an extra day to recuperate. Carrick and Fletcher can be a strong midfield for us. Up front we are likely to see Tevez and Giggs again. Their partnership doesnt always work well but they will need to be effective this time. Tevez also gets another day of rest while Giggs will be fresh to start. The bench also looks useful if we need to change our game plan.

have villa got their main players all fit for sunday?

been waiting too long for this one, a 4-0 thrashing would be nice.
