Honestly, as much as I dislike seeing Jones or Smalling at RB I'd much rather see them as young defenders in need of game time there before Valencia.

Over the last season or so, I have begun to struggle to figure out what Valencia actually brings to the team any more.

Can't wait to see the confidence the attacking 4 have with the foundation of Carrick and Fellaini behind them.

So has Evans been injured or something? Hardly featured for us and I was expecting him to get a game today

Fabio is a young defender in need of game time too though, and it's his natural position, if he can't get games at right back when Jones and Rafael are both injured then he's in trouble. I know he played on Saturday, but Smalling was injured. I'd also like to have seen Evans either tonight or on Saturday, but I'm nitpicking, it's a big start to the season and Moyes is going with experience, I'm sure everyone will get a chance soon enough, especially with the league cup coming up next week. Looking forward to tonight, it's a good lineup.

At OT we've won 5, Drawn 3 and Lost 2. The last time we lost at home to a German team was in 2002 iirc.
2001. The last time a german side got anything at OT was in 2002, since then we beat Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Bayern and Schalke as well. Oh and Stuttgart too.

Evans is a shout, suprised he's not playing as he does need game time and should be quite sharp given he played internationals. I think with smalling it might be something as simple as wanting his height in defence.

Aye, that base should really free up the flair players. Hope we all get what we wanted and expected!

I want us to turn over the attacks quickly. If we lose the ball in their half and they try to attack us, I want to see Fellaini or Carrick turn over possession quickly and offload it to one of our attackers who will in turn catch them out of position.

After writing that, I realise its just a convoluted way of saying, I hope we play a counter attacking game

Champions League is back

Great lineup, looking forward to it.

Donati? Massimo Donati?

Edit nvm Guilio Donati
Giulio. He's a young Italian right back, played for Inter last season.

/edit:
strange, I'm sure your edit wasn't there when I started typing.

Smalling and Valencia on that right flank doesn't fill me with confidence but thats a decent looking lineup. Can't see us losing

My only thought is that perhaps Moyes is worried about Fabio for Sunday. I hope that's the case anyway.

Apart from Nani (and Rafael), that's pretty much our strongest lineup.

Quite surprised to see Ferdinand starting again, but we'd got used to him being rotated so often.

Moyes doesn't seem a big rotater, but will enjoy it tonight now!

TV3 trying to suggest that Fellaini will be on the left and Kagawa in the centre

That's not even remotely funny TH :/ It's a shit attempt from whoever is behind the account. Nowhere near the quality of the big sam one.

I'm so excited. The Champions League is back and we've put out quite an attacking team. Kagawa needs to show us what we've been missing. His ability is perfectly suited to this competition.

Let's get it on!

Hyppia. one of the slowest and most shite but overrated players by the scouse.

Let's smash them'
