I hope Vida missing out doesn't cost us. Good to have Carrick in there, little bit of protection could make the difference.
 
If we win this game we are through to the next round easily. The final CL game of this group stage would then be the perfect time to let Morrison have a run.
You do realize that Fergie sees a lot on the training ground and training ground form also has some influence on selections. Maybe Gibson has trained particularly well in the last few days and Fergie feels that he is in the right zone to give him a chance from the bench? On top of that there is how to balance upcoming games with selections and injuries.
