Foster
O'Shea Ferdinand Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Park
Rooney Berbatov
--
Subs: Kuszczak; Fábio, Cathcart; Anderson, Scholes, Giggs; Owen

Depending on how serious Nani's injury actually is, decides whether he starts over Park or features on the bench over someone (probably Anderson if Fergie wants a bit more reserve in defence by keeping Cathcart there). I see no reason why what's arguably our strongest available line-up won't start for the first game, even if it's against a newly promoted side. If this game was further down the line, you might expect the likes of Fábio/Rafael, Anderson, Macheda, Tosic, and perhaps Welbeck to have more of a shout.

Manchester United 3-0 Birmingham City
Berbatov
Valencia
Rooney

I'll go out on a limb and say they'll get the three assists for those goals too :P

PIG should start ahead of foster going by todays match but i think saf will give foster a couple of more games to sort himself out.

Yeh, I think he's just a bit nervous a lot of the time, which is why his kicking suffers. He was alright today though (apart from the kicking).

Doesn't work on mine either and I'm on 1440 x 900

Vidared fails ;)

Works fine on mine, but I think you're all little girls the way ye go on about this.

Team should be....

GK: Foster

RB: O'Shea
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Park

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: PIG, Fabio, Fletcher, Giggs, Anderson, Macheda, Owen

3-0 nice and easy start to the season. Rooney to score.

Should be a walkover.

3-0. Ronal..er...Rooney and Owen (2).

starting 11 is obvious

Foster
Oshea Rio Evans Evra
Valencia Fletcher Carrick Park
Berbatov Rooney

even though Foster had a mare against Chelsea, we have to see if it was a one off or if he can`t handle the pressure. Gutted for Nani. Can`t wait to see What Valencia can do.

agree w/ starting lineup, but against teams like brum at home, you hope you've got the game wrapped up early enough to blood the youngsters. so macheda & tosic on the bench, looking to figure around the 65' mark. both had a strong pre-season and this is and brum are an ideal opponent to continue to build upon that, especially for tosic, who may figure heavily early on if nani's shoulder injury is at all worrisome.

Out injured. Could have been on the pitch with fabio's shirt yesterday. Hard to say for sure..

I think it was Stuart Hall yesterday ... "There's Fabio Da Silva .... his brother Rafael is a more familiar face in the United lineup ... err.... wait a minute".

-------------PIG-------------
O'Shea--Rio-------Evans--Evra
Valencia-Carrick-Fletcher-Park
-------Rooney-Berb----------

Wouldn't mind seeing Fletcher paired with Scholes to be honest. With Fletcher doing all the dirty work, Scholes would be free to spray the ball to our attacking wingers to lay into the middle.

Foster
O Shea - Ferdinand - Evans - Evra
Valencia - Fletcher - Giggs - Park/Nani
Berbatov - Rooney

Giggs in centre midfield. Carrick is a bit off and Giggs can provide a more attacking verve to break through the Birmingham ranks.

I'd go for:

Foster

O'Shea
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra

Nani/Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Park

Rooney
Berbatov

SUBS: Kuszczak, Fabio, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs, Gibson/Valencia, Owen.

I reckon Fergie's pretty much guaranteed Anderson a starting place for this game seeing as he took no part on Sunday. I'd stick with Foster and see how he goes for this game; however I think PIG will be put in at some point out of fairness, over the next 8-10 weeks.

Same here not got my tickets.

As Owen was on the bench anyone expect that he might start. Would of liked to see Nani and Valencia both start.
