Manchester United vs. Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers
Friedel

Emerton
Nelsen
Samba
Warnock

Bentley
Dunn
Mokoena
Pedersen

Santa Cruz
McCarthy

Subs: Brown, Ooijer, Berner, Tugay, Derbyshire

As has been said, this won't be easy, take them for granted and we'll pay for it. Also having seen that, this game will be more open than many people first thought IMO.

We must keep a close watch on McCarthy, Santa Cruz, Bentley and Pedersen.

Id go as far as saying that a win today would be our best result of the season, Blackburn are a bloody tough team to beat

This is the best team we have played against so far this season. A victory here would be fantastic. But I've a bad feeling going into this without Rooney. If Saha limps off early on then we're back to playing Tevez as our only striker. If we win it's going to be tight, maybe 2-1.

Thanks man, we love your words

Better than Arsenal/Chelsea? I think not...

I agree. Blackburn are a harder team for us than Arsenal. With Arsenal we know we have chances to hit them on the break. With Blackburn you know they're going to be difficult to break down. They could get a 0-0 if they want to play for that.

Great line-up, all as expected IMO.

Nani must be thinking he needs a hat-trick of goals and assists to get a consistent first team spot.

giggs has reached legendary status. he will play his alloted games regardless of the form sheet.

At the start of the season I never anticipated Ferguson would be starting Anderson over Carrick so quickly. He really is a tremendous talent.

amen and amen. i expect he wants the extra attacking talent in case saha is still rusty, as well as him and carlitos not exactly being old hat.

i just got to know they are showing it on tv where i live no streams for me tonight :D

Great to see Anderson starting, sooner or later he will be one of the first names on the team sheet

Its on a good form lately but not the best team we have played against

The more I think about who we should play in centre mid, the further away I come to getting an answer. Any two of Carrick/Hargreaves/Anderson is a fantastic combination.

Saha starting is fantastic.
Giggs starting I don't mind, him or Nani I really can't decide either.
4-4-2 I love.
O'Shea on the bench ahead of Pique is good because he is comfortable at either full back.

Great selection all around. Hope for a great match now!

This is going to be a good game. Our players are quite well rested and I think we will see a good game today.

A number of points of interest:

- Can Anderson maintain his form bearing in mind that Carrick is ready to come back into the side at any time?
- How will Tevez and Saha dovetail?
- We will see whether Giggs' regular rests are being of much benefit to him.

Refreshingly, Blackburn are coming with a 4-4-2 so I envisage an open game.

IMO it's Hargreaves who should make way for Carrick, not Anderson

.

Stupid for them, good for us. That said they do have a pair of competent strikers now, but going 4 on 4 in the midfield vs. United is tough for anyone

Going 4-5-1 just makes it a matter of time.

We always give teams chances to attack. Going 4-4-2 they give themselves a chance to capitalise.

Hopefully the Arsenal draw still stings (and the DK win doesn't cloud the concentration) enough to make the squad bear down for 90 minutes full. Rovers will be tough and looking to upset the applecart.
