Do those bastards at Setanta have this too?

Team I would like to see.....

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Hargreaves
CM: Anderson
LM: Nani (Giggs will play though)

CF: Tevez
CF: Rooney

Subs: PIG, Pique, Carrick, Giggs, Saha

As far as a prediction goes part of me thinks we'll batter them like we did last season but then the other half of me remembers that they're actually a right cnut to play against. Either way I do think we'll win.

Rooney has never scored against Blackburn to my knowledge so I reckon Tevez could be the man to get the goal(s) and maybe Saha from the bench (he always scores against them)

Good point.

I thought all Sunday games were televised?

its not on ele as the game was only swiched a few weeks back

it was meant to be on Saturday, til a few weeks back when it was changed as Blackburn thought they'd still be in the Uefa Cup. a few days after they swiched it they were knocked out

fecking cos me a few quid having to change flights and an extra nights hotel.

Extra night on the Beer in manchester though:D

Well be a tough game, well be happy with any sort of win.

2-1

Well be easier games for the next 4 weeks after this one. Bolton, Fulham, Derby, Sporting and a potentially useless Roma tie. Therefore, well be happy when this game is over if we come away with a win.

Rooney will score, Ronaldo because he really wants to score every game so I back him for this game

Game raisers, this lot of cocks

But we can do the same thing we did to to Boro, who is another bogey team of ours

Just hope Savage lays off the bad tackles

They have a decent strike force, but I just can't see us losing with the form we're in.

Give Anderson a start . He's not afraid to stick a boot in someones head and we know Blackburn like to play that game . Throw Hargreaves at them too with Nani and Ronaldo feeding Rooney and Tevez . feck it , its times like these i wish Vidic was a natural defensive midfielder .

we owe Friedel a good thrashing

we put 4 past him last season

Damn, it's the time like this when I wish we name a bigger bench than 5

4-1, repeat of last year, without Scholes, Park or Ole.

Rooney x 2, Tevez, Giggs to score

I read an interesting statistic (hard to believe) but Saha has never scored for us when coming off the bench. Blackburn is the hardest game in the next 5 matches, so we need to play our strongest team against them with players in form. That probably means playing Carrick and Anderson in the centre. We can then mix around our central midfielders in the next 4 games, allowing Hargreaves and Carrick more match time together.

And there was the equaliser a couple of seaosns back where Louis might have used his hand in the build up. Souness wasn't pleased at all with that. ;)

Hard to believe because it's a made up statistic. He's already scored, coming off the bench, this season. Against SundIreland, IIRC.

He has. He did it against Sunderland this season. I seem to recall him doing it at Highbury a few years back as well.

Very tough game. Having said that, we are at OT. Against an understrength Liverpool team, Blackburn were lucky to get a point, so I reckon we should be beating them.

Blackburn are a good side; they've got two excellent strikers up front and so it's not going to be an easy game for Vida or Rio. Bentley can also be a danger, as can Pederson. I've noticed a lot of their play seems to come down their left side, with Warnock pushing forward. If Emerton plays in the right back position, he too will try to get forward, and the ball will be played to him a lot. If our wingers do their job well, they will force their fullbacks to stay deep and force Blackburn to try and play through the middle. IMO, they've got a gritty midfield, but when it comes to passing we can easily outdo them. Nonetheless, Bentley will be their biggest threat IMO and could look to take advantage of the space left behind by Evra as he bombs forward.

Our best line-up would be:
-------------------VDS
Brown-----Rio--------Vidic---------Evra
Ronaldo---Carrick----Anderson----Giggs
------------Rooney----------------
-------------------Saha
SUBS: Kuszczak, Tevez, Hargreaves, Nani, Pique

Scousers will no doubt be praying we win to help them along in their quest for 4th place... :smirk:

Blackburn Rovers:

Friedel - gets better with age. Terrific shotstopper and always seems to relish the big occasion - 7.
Ooijer - big Dutchman with plenty of big game experience. Playing at right back for Rovers but his lack of mobility would be badly exposed by us. Meaning that, Emerton may come into play - 5.
Samba - a bit of an unknown, but this mountainous man is enjoying a burgeoning reputation for his goalscoring exploits and solid defending - 6.
Nelsen - a consistent performer for a long while now. But realistically, United's forwards will have faced better players - 6.
Warnock - rejected by Liverpool but he has been pretty good at Ewood. Solid enough defensively and pretty good on the front foot - 6.

Bentley - one of the best non Top 4 players around. Pace, trickery and devilish delivery. Has a hattrick to his name against us - 8.
Pedersen - has endured a drop in form since the heady days of a brace at OT. Always a danger from set pieces and 20 yard range. Easy enough to mark out of a game as he just runs up and down in straight lines - 6.
Dunn - a classy player when fit. He seems to be back on track under Hughes and is likely to be the danger man in midfield - 7.
Tugay - Hughes rested the Turk against Liverpool but may put him in at OT for his combative edge. But it is his good passing range and sensational shooting that we must watch out for. But is getting on in years now and the game may pass him by as it wears on - 6.

Santa Cruz - I was unsure as to whether the Paraguayan would cut it in England but he has settled well. A real danger aerially - 7.
McCarthy - another of the best players outside the Big 4. Good speed and strength and lovely technique. Capable of a variety of goals. Another who has notched a brace against United in the past - 8.

= 72/110.

Blackburn may well be one of the first teams to come to OT in ages and play two up front. Alternatively, Santa Cruz may drop out with Emerton coming in to support Dunn and Tuguy in central midfield. In which case, it's McCarthy closely flanked by Pedersen and Bentley.
