Only positive to take from the game is that despite possibly the poorest he's ever played for us Rooney got a goal which generally leads to him going on a run of goal getting

Obertan had a poor debut, looked like he was shaking. He'll surely improve though. Got to feel sorry for Tosic though. He'd have surely done more for us.
Rooney seemed well off his game today but still got a goal. Valencia was excellent all game. Berbatov did the business when we needed it.
Wes Brown looked like an accident waiting to happen at times, but he's not played enough football to be match sharp.

yeah..the commentators were going on about that Obertan could be the new Ronaldo....hate to put that kind of pressure on the lad...but he looks a prospect.
We desperately need Fletcher against Chelsea or we are gone.

Funny, Obertan seems like Nani inverted. He makes clever runs but appears to get nervous when he's on the ball. Nani doesn't make any clever runs, but he's cool as feck whenever he's got the chance to do a stepover or two. We should try to merge them.
He was on the bench. I reckon he'll get some time against CSKA.

Most of the game, Anderson/Carrick never got into the box. That meant we only had 4 attacking players, who were likely to create/score. If Anderson/Carrick got into the box more often, it would make us look much less predictable. Fletcher can do it, but I still feel we are missing a player here.

They're all better than Modric. And questioning Obertan's racial/ethnic make up is a tad racist.

I agree with this. We're lacking runs from midfield, and it's making us a lot more easy to defend against.
