Manchester United vs. Braga

Don't really like seeing Carrick there. He needs rest whenever we can give it to him.

At least we have good options on the bench if things don't go to plan. Hopefully Young get's a decent run out as well. We could do with another wideman looking sharp and hungry.
 
That attack is ridiculous, I can take Carrick at CB when he has that ahead of him.

I actually expect us to beat them pretty "easily". And by that I don't mean that they'll play particularly bad, I just have this feeling that we'll be too much for them, especially with Rooney and RvP firing on all cilinders.
 
Is Carrick at centre back really such a big deal?

I don't see them attacking much.

Let's face it in plenty of games we could get away with 3 at the back.

Scholes probably yes, and honestly I don't see a problem in that, however I'd be extremely pissed if he starts Giggs against Chelsea. Surely out of all the options we have he can't be the 1st one. No offense to Giggs, but when you're facing a team that's 4 points ahead of you there's not really much room for sentiments.
 
Fergie is really taking UCL seriously. I didn't expected Rooney n RVP to start. We'd virtually guarantee qualifying in the top spot if we win this, so good to see no risk taken.
 
Giggs hasn't started a match after the Spurs debacle where he was substituted after the half time. Why the feck do we think he'll start at Chelsea?
 
Yeah, strong team. Lets get the points in the bag and then worry about resting players last 2 games.

Historically it seems like SAF likes to play him in the big games. Maybe that has changed since the Spurs game.
 
Carrick at cb is a disaster when playing against the likes of Fellaini, he will play okay tonight, I don't think Braga relies too much on hoofball.

I think the Liverpool match had a lot to do with it. People are just scared that he'll be the one Fergie resorts to. Let's look at that game as an example. We were complete and utter crap, and the majority had guessed that was the way we were going to play as soon as we/they saw the team sheet. And while you can't just fault him it was clear that starting him in midfield was a bad idea. Yet when the game was over and SAF was asked what he though "won it" for United he responded by saying it was the veterans' maturity, etc. when it was clear (atleast to me) that the main reason why we played so bad was exactly because of him relying on our veterans (particularly Giggs lately) too much.
I love the legend, but I'll be honest and admit I no longer look forward to seeing his name on the teamsheet (especialy in games against tough opposition)
 
Keane reckons Rio will pay for the KIO fall out at the weekend. Fergie won't forget it.
 
Sucks that Carrick has to play at CB and can't be rested and I am surprised at RVP and Rooney playing but no Ando
 
I am real surprised that Ando isn't starting. He definitely needs minutes on the fields especially if he is being considered for Sunday. Maybe 2nd half.

Loving the midfield and attack!!!! Hoping we are 4-0 after 60 Kim's so we can rest RVP, Rooney and Carrick for the Chavs and bring on Young, giggs and Anderson to get game time

Yeah they will. Anyway they should be! If we can't comfortably beat braga at home, then we should be in the Europa cup!
 
The next game is on Sunday. Plenty of time for 20 somethings-professional footballers to recover. Can we enjoy this game? Or bitching about something part of supporting United now?

If we played Giggs and Scholes in this game it would have brought in a lot of hue and cry. Now, we are not, it's doing the same thing. Preposterous!
 
Considering Giggs has destroyed Chelsea numerous time the last few meetings I think he will start.

I don't agree at all considering Chelsea have young and energetic legs.

We neeed out youth for the game no doubt.
