Manchester United vs. Cardiff City

feck me.

He's gone and signed Mata, he's got Rooney/van Persie back (I know there's a possibility that Rooney's not 100 percent fit), we've got a good break since our last match, he's got Januzaj there - and he goes and plays Young and Valencia? Seriously? Are you fecking kidding me?

And don't get me started on that fecking midfield.

He's never going to do anything other than play a rigid midfield four with two wide wingers that are completely ineffective, is he?

We might, just might, get away with this against Cardiff due to individual brilliance, but feck me, he's disappointed me. I'm starting to believe he simply are completely unable to play something that gets the most out of our attacking potential.

Januzaj needs a rest, Rooney probably not completly fit, Fletcher played 120 minutes against Sunderland, Jones and Giggs always look decent when playing together but yea, I have no idea why would he pick Valencia, it's just some kind of riddle nobody can solve really.

Calm down guys. That midfield is a bit weak but give it a chance. He knows what he's doing.

That's basically the one team we could've played that takes absolutely no account of the fact we've just signed Juan Mata. We've just put him in the same old wing centric team in place of Rooney. It's effectively improved nothing. It's maddening! AARGGHHH!

This pretty much. No runs in behind defence to be expected today.

Quit the crying we're playing bottom of the table, if Rooney isn't ready and Adnan needs a rest then we can do without them.

As much as I hate Giggs in midfield this is exactly the type of game he should be playing.

Wasn't quite expecting that! Let's try and ignore the buzz kill and anticipate what Mata and Van Persie can bring tonight. We must keep the supply flowing to them and we'll look dangerous. Going out wide too much is just asking for disappointment so our play through the middle has to be much better. The most important thing is confidence. We'll see how much of a lift this good news has actually given these players.

Just give it to Mata and good things will happen.

Mata ---- Welbeck----Kagawa
-----------RVP--------------

There.

Pretty much this.

Yeah because Kagawa and Welbeck has set the world alight. Just give it one bloody game before you complain, Mata might actually play to this tactics advantages.

I would rather play them today than against Stoke. Neither team are very good, but Stoke away in theory should be more difficult.

I'm a bit pissed off to be honest. I was more excited for this match than any other so far this season, to see Mata and to the return of Ole - it just seemed there was a wind of positivity around the club.

Then he goes and selects that fecking atrocious piece of shit midfield to support Mata and a RvP lacking in match sharpness. Even if we win tonight, tonight shows he just doesn't want to move away from our rigid, boring, horrible brand of football.

Wow, it's a staggeringly average side.

That said, we're world class at the sharp end of the pitch. I hope RvP is 100% ready.

Well no one will be able to accuse him of making a defensive substitution tonight

I can sort of understand resting Januzaj and Fletcher, but Kagawa? Cleverley has been well below average in his last appearances, but he's still miles better than Giggs who is well past the point. He should never ever again start for us IMO. Is it really too much of an ask to start only one of Young/Valencia, Kagawa through the middle, Mata on the left cutting inside and Cleverley alongside Jones in CM? A front six of Jones, Cleverley, Young, Kagawa, Mata and RvP would be lot more positive than the tumescent shite we're most likely going to get served again.

Ole is going for pace in Campbell and Bellamy, he will look to exploit the holes our midfield will leave in behind.

This is going to be a Rooney like debut.

He's going to steal the show.

Score one, assist two, key pass for a forth.

RVP Hat Trick.

That's basically the one team we could've played that takes absolutely no account of the fact we've just signed Juan Mata. We've just put him in the same old wing centric team in place of Rooney. It's effectively improved nothing. It's maddening! AARGGHHH!

yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah but you know Valencia and Young are good defensively...

Well have to say I'm pretty disappointed, was really looking forward to seeing kagawa and mata link up, ideally with januzaj as well.

I mean Valencia in for januzaj is fair enough, he needs a rest and Valencia did fairly well against Sunderland. But Young? Ultimately kagawa is someone who will play with mata better than young imo, kagawa might not be playing his best but he's not always been playing in his favoured role and is still adapting. Young has no adapting to do, regularly plays in his normal position and had largely been poor.

Less said about the middle the better, don't know what either have done recently to start but suppose jones will need to get sharpness.

Rvp and mata up top though is great to see, hopefully those behind them will give them the service they need.

I don't so much mind Young starting as he was beginning to find some form before his injury. And he's potentially not a completely one-dimensional player.

Valencia starting though. fecking hell. I'd just like to see us go a run of games without playing him.
