Manchester United vs. Cardiff City

I don't get why you're all going into meltdown. Players like Young and Giggs are still in the squad, so they're going to be used at some point. They're capable of getting it down in a game like this which means we should be okay giving some rest to the likes of Welbeck, Januzaj and Fletcher and not throwing Rooney in too soon.

I'd of rather seen Kagawa and Januzaj in there alongside Mata and Van Persie but the time will come, patience.

Awful midfield, but are we really going mental already? Mata's playing at number ten behind Van Persie, get excited ffs.

I expected a more exciting lineup to be honest, aside from Mata and RVP it's a bit shit.

I'm a bit pissed off to be honest. I was more excited for this match than any other so far this season, to see Mata and to the return of Ole - it just seemed there was a wind of positivity around the club.

Then he goes and selects that fecking atrocious piece of shit midfield to support Mata and a RvP lacking in match sharpness. Even if we win tonight, tonight shows he just doesn't want to move away from our rigid, boring, horrible brand of football.

To be fair, who do we have?

Fellaini is injured, Carrick is injured. Cleverley isn't in good form, Ando isn't here. There's only Giggs and Jones left. Fletcher is a bit of a special case. Wingeres could have been better but oh well.

RVP starting has surprised me, expected Rooney before him. That bench is pretty much showing this is a must win at all costs

Young, Valencia and Giggs have almost killed my good mood.

Here's to a blinder from Mata to get everyone's spirits up.

So we're all now going to judge Moyes future footballing philosophy on a game against the bottom of the league?

Have some fecking patience

I'm talking about a flat midfield four with Young and Valencia.

It's so fecking depressing. Jones/Cleverley or Jones/Fletcher would've been better options, but it's not my biggest gripe, even though I'm not overly happy with seeing Giggs in there.

Giggs, Young? I dont even....

hopefully Rvp and Mata will save the day.

Now, we're judging him on every match he's lead us in - in which he so far has displayed about as much creativity as Tony Pulis.

And we're judging him on 10 years at Everton.

Mata loves Giggs.

Why not play Jones in defence instead of Evans, play Cleverley in midfield and put Januzaj and Rooney or Kagawa (if Rooneys not fit) at the expense of Valencia and young in a 4-2-3-1. We are at home against Cardiff!!? If you wanted a more defensive player than Giggs you could always play fletcher there (hate to say it).

It's a poor midfield selection, Iriwn. How Valencia can get consistently picked is beyond me.

Nobody understands that, it happened under SAF, happens under Moyes, but Jesus fecking Christ, it seems that only our supporters are still going apeshit over it when it's pretty much inevitable and can be foreseen by just anybody.

Doesn't justify the moaning though. We are what we are, players will come and until then, we will have to get behind the players that have been integral in title winning squads before.

Once Rooney is back fit he won't be. Giggs and Jones have done both well before and terribly as a pair. Hopefully we'll see the good and not the bad. Young isn't as bad as everyone makes out and we've a great front two.

The bench is excellent and we have match changers a plenty.

We can't keep playing Januzaj every match, and people piss and moan when Kagawa's played on the wing as well. Judge when Rooney's fully fit and Januzaj's fresher.

I do feel we will end up ruining Jones by constantly shifting his position.

We've been poor defensively, why not play Jones there and give him a run.

Young is an awful player. I can live with any other permutations in the team.

4-4-2 has to die asap for us

Agreed, but I'm looking at that team tonight and thinking it's more of a 433. In all likelihood Mata will probably play as the most advanced of a midfield three and won't be as advanced as a Rooney or Welbeck would be.

Young and Valencia should both be nowhere near the team after the shite they have both served up recently.

If things don't go according to plan Moyes will get slaughtered for his team selection.

Remember that Simpsons episode where Mr Burns coaches the professional baseball players, "You there, hit a homerun"....."I told him to do that". That's how I see Moyes' talk with Mata before the game.

Strongest team in two months is missing Rooney/Januzaj/Carrick/Vidic and a striker who has 6 goals in 7 games says a lot about how much stronger this squad will get in the coming month
