Generally, maybe he doesnt pass it forward as much as we might like.I think more significantly he's being told to pass it forwards more often which I do think he doesn't do enough or well enough these days, whether it was the right thing to do then or not.
But in this situation, we didnt need a goal and Chelsea were attacking. He didnt do anything wrong passing it back to De Gea. De Gea had the time to pick his pass without and pressure. Probably has a longer kick than Carrick as well.
On the whole, I agree. Would love him to pass forward more
