Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Val starts every game even though he has often been poor this year. I want to see more of Kagawa TBH!

Bench?

edit: Ah, saw it.

No Nani again, tbf that's not even a surprise anymore.

Hoping to see Scholes getting at least 20mins.

After Jones' shit display at the Bridge and his inability to stop Mata from dictating, he better put in a shift today.

Also don't see the purpose of playing RVP with that much rotation. May as well let Hernandez or Welbeck or even Rooney lead the line. I assume we'll see the likes of Carrick and Rooney back in next week though.

Here's a lineup from a few years ago:

@ManUtd24: United team to face Chelsea: Kuszczak, Lee, Brown, O'Shea, Heinze, Eagles, Smith, Fletcher, Richardson, Solskjaer, Dong

our squad seems to have improved.

Very boring. Neither club putting out their strongest team. And not even some young players for United. My interest in this has plummeted.

Yeah, same. Finding it tough to get too interested now.

Thought Kagawa would have played if he was changing the team about. Interesting to see how Anderson, Cleverley and Jones will do in centre midfield

Such a boring line up, not necessarily football wise, they could do well, but there's so many players who should be getting game time there who aren't, and so many who are who just don't need it. Bizarre.

#mufc XI: Lindegaard, Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra, Jones, Anderson, Cleverley, Valencia, Giggs, RvP

Well that's not fun.

See this is where I feel for Hernandez. Lots of players who have had a lot of game time recently in jones, valanecia and giggs and we've gone for what sounds like a bit of a random mix but can't fit him in.

Absolutely mate. We've won the title already so there is nothing riding on this but the guy can't even get on the bench against Chelsea, who he always terrifies. Plus we look to be playing 4-5-1 at home despite the fact that this is a deaf rubber. Weird. Our conservatism this season e.g. vs City (H) has been one of the only disappointments of this campaign.

That was the team that got the guard of honour from Chelsea wasn't it! :)

It won't be 4-5-1. Jones is in there, so RVP will play just behind him, as Jones stands 20 yards offside, prepared to acrobatically volley anything that comes in his direction.

He's on the bench.

Really sorry for Hernandez. If you are making loads of changes, surely he should be in the side. His record against Chelsea is brilliant.

I can't understand the logic in not playing Kagawa unless there's an injury. Hernandez too, I feel sorry for him.

Yeah but wasn't that after we won the league and we wante to give some fringe players a run out. We've not really bought in any young players today and the guys who've lacked games like Hernandez are still on the bench. I dunno Hernandez not starting, unless he's got a bit of a knock, and going for a bit of a random team seems harsh to me.

You mean that same Jones performance where he was the best player on the pitch in the first half and stopped them from creating barely a single chance? Yeah, stop talking shit mate.

Valencia could sleep with Cathy and Fergie would still start him!

Genuinely feel sorry for the likes of Kagawa, Hernandez and Nani. Must be very disheartening seeing Val start every match, regardless of performances, while they are contstantly in but mainly out of the team.

RvP playing every single league game is just unnecessary now.
SAF said just a couple of weeks ago he wanted to give the fringe players games so that they feel their contribution to us winning the title has been big. He even named Hernandez amongst those he was going to give games to and we all know how much he loves scoring against Chelsea yet he's on the bench because RvP and Jones were fitting in come hell or high water.

I get the Nani exclusion, cause we're probably selling him, so whatever, but I can't for the life of me comprehend why Hernandez and Kagawa aren't starting out there, and the likes of RvP, Giggs, Jones and Valencia are.

Strange stuff.

I wonder which one of the midfielders will be further up field to link with RvP.

I hope it's Cleverley. Maybe Anderson. It'd be funny if it's Jones though!

Could be Giggs behind RvP with Cleverley out wide.

Giggs loves playing Chelsea.
