I don't really get the point of Diouf anymore. Gibson, I get, and his move broke down, but Diouf is just a completely pointless player to have now. He's never going to get into a PL side, never going to be a player we bring on as a late option and yet by being in the squad, he needs games by default, which he's only going to get in the Carling Cup, in the place of the academy players we usually try and break in.

Nobody complained, just pointed it out and found it amusing.
I looked at going but didn't fancy paying £80 for two tickets to go and watch a reserve team I can see for free on a Thursday night at Moss Lane.

As said earlier in this thread, I agree with you. I really don't get why we're playing him. All other players on the pitch have a chance of playing a league/CL game later in the season, but I don't see how Diouf would actually play a non-league cup game. I'd much rather have Macheda up front and some youngster on the wing.
It doesn't help that I sort of imagine him as ESN. I think it's something to do with the way he carries himself, and that I've never heard him talk, so for some reason I just assume he actually can't, and is a dumb mute of some kind, like a sort of Lenny character, who communicates through shrugs and grunts, eats on his own and has no friends.
