i wonder why rio isnt playing?
I can't see Rio being rested/dropped as it is arguably our most difficult game over Xmas. If he's not playing he's not fit IMO.

Yep, we were so upset with his performance at Anfield we gave him a new contract, then duly dropped him from the team. He's surely unfit.
Rio was said to have picked up a knock against Liverpool. I guess he didn't recover. With the squad we've got, we shouldn't be taking chances on players fitness against anyone unless it's a title decider.

Their midfield is not anywhere near up to United's, would have liked to see Rio start vs. Johnson and Yakubu, but as logn as it's Brown and not Pique we should have enough experience at the back to handle them

Actually Arteta is ill. And yes, Everton have got a good lineup. Then they look at ours and see Vidic, Anderson, Giggs, Tevez, Rooney, Ronaldo... You know. All in the eye of the beholder.
And well done Fergie for giving him the chance rather then go with a "safe" option, like O'Shea.
