Get Berbatov back for this. He always scores at OT.

Rooney Berba Nani Valencia Carrick Ando and the back four.

van der Sar

Rafael
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Park
Nani

Rooney
Berbatov

SUBS: Kuszczak, O'Shea, Smalling, Anderson, Giggs, Owen, Hernandez.

Get Park off after 60/70 minutes and save his batteries for Schalke. I imagine Scholes will start against them too.

Engliou will be up for this.

Could use Fletcher's energy in midfield for this. Would like to see Rafael return to RB but no news on him recently (hope he's not injured). I think Rio will return, although I won't have any qualms if Smalling continues alongside Vidic.

Berba will probably return to the line-up but I'd like SAF to continue with Hernandez-Rooney upfront and Valencia-Nani on the wings.

It's a match at OT. Berbatov has to play. He just loves scoring at home.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Smalling
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Anderson
LM: Park

CF: Rooney
CF: Hernandez

Subs: PIG, Fabio, Gibson, Giggs, Nani, Owen, Berbatov

2-1, Hernandez with both goals

We have to rest Hernandez.

Any news on Rafael. I can't take O'Shea at right back again.

Berbatov will start this game up top with Rooney. This is a cert.

I also expect Valencia and Park to play on either flank.

Looking at the team selection today I think that is how it is going to be.

Nani will get a rest with Shalke in mind, as will Hernandez. Giggs won't play and Park will come in on the left.

Its at the back where im more concerned/unsure as to whats going to take the field, right back becomes totally redundant without Rafael there, and theres no substitute for Ferdinand and Vidic as quality as Smallings been in a must win game i know who i want back there.

We have to win this as much for our state of mind as anything else, going out of the cup and drawing a blank tonight cant be followed by another stumble, it might become a bit of a problem otherwise.

VDS

Rafael (if not fit, then Brown)
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Park

Rooney
Berbatov

Subs: PIG, Smalling, Fabio, Giggs, Nani, Owen, Chicharito.

payback for them daring to take us on when they were 2-0 down earlier in the season... we'll cream them.

I hope.

We need to make sure our poor results in the last two games don't turn into a permanent lapse in form, and a win here would set us up very nicely indeed for the run in.

Oneof few good things about Newcastle was that it was played on tuesday. Team looked bait jaded so the extra days rest will do them good. We should win this game and comfortably as long as we are fresh and run around like duracell bunnies which we have not done in past 2 games.

Hernandez and carrck and evra need a rest!

We should be able to beat them at home. Like one of the earlier posters said, our home form this year might be the thing to propel us to the title.

everton are a good side and more than capable of taking points off the top teams....just they are crap against the lesser sides hence they are not further up in the table.

we have to be wary of them.

I hope we go with Rooney - Hernandez again and I think Evra needs to be rested.

VDS
Rafael Smalling Vidic O'Shea
Carrick Gibson
Valencia --- Rooney --- Nani
Hernandez

Is little Raf fit?
I'd go with O'Shea RB and Fabio LB with Anderson in MF but otherwise I agree with that

I'm presuming/hoping so. Before the Chelsea game Fergie said he was running again and that was a week ago.

I'm not sure how confident i'd be with Fabio at left back against Coleman.

Do you mean defending, attacking or both?
I'm happy with Fabio having a go at anyone, with both Rafael and Fabio I'm suspect on them defending at the best of times as both are rash tacklers but I've got full faith in both these lads.

Rafael's defending has improved quite a lot in the last 18months. He's kept some really big players quiet for large periods. Fabio is quite a bit behind in that respect imo.

If we line up with Fabio and O'Shea I'd rather Fabio on the right.

VDS

Rafael Vidic Smalling Evra

Valencia Carrick Gibson Nani

Rooney

Berbatov

Tough game, but Everton have less motivation than we do and we're outstanding at home.

Surely Fletch can come back for this? I think we've missed his energy and drive from midfield lately, and that goal he scored in this fixture last season was unbelievable.
