Manchester United vs. Everton

He actually said before the game on Tuesday that Berbatov wasn't feeling well. This strain is new.

good thing everton are without cahill, arteta, fellaini and saha due to injuries.

TEAM NEWS

Manchester United's top scorer Dimitar Berbatov is a slight doubt with a groin strain, while Paul Scholes completes a two-game ban.

Rafael is fit to return, but Darren Fletcher needs another 10 days to fully recover from a virus.

Everton will assess John Heitinga, who was forced off against Blackburn because of a hamstring problem.

Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta are both nearing a return but Saturday's match could come too soon for them.

Man Utd

Suspended: Scholes (one match)

Doubtful: Berbatov (groin), Ferdinand (calf)

Injured/unavailable: Fletcher (virus), Hargreaves (shoulder)

Everton

Doubtful: Cahill (foot), Arteta & Heitinga (both hamstring)

Injured: Baxter (hamstring), Fellaini & Saha (both ankle)

I've heard earlier this week that both Cahill and Arteta would be fit, but has Moyes said something new today?

BBC are wrong again, it's 3 game ban and this it the second of the three.

Possible Everton team

...................Howard
Hibbert - Jagielka - Distin - Baines
Coleman - Neville - Rodwell - Bilyaletdinov
...................Osman
.................Beckford

That's if not Cahill and Arteta are back.

I'm going to guess that Carrick, O'Shea and Nani will be rested, maybe Evra too. I could see Gibson-Anderson or Gibson-Giggs, maybe not Anderson-Giggs.

Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill could return to the Everton squad to face Manchester United on Saturday, according to manager David Moyes.

Cahill has been struggling with a foot injury and has not played since a brief substitute appearance against Sunderland in February.

Arteta has not featured since suffering a hamstring tear early on in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham City at Goodison Park at the start of last month.

But Moyes said: “There’s an outside chance that Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill could be involved.

“Although it is not just this game, we would like to get them back for all the games, to have them back for Wigan, West Brom, Man City and Chelsea would be great.

“We have a doubt over John Heitinga with his hamstring but getting some of the players back around the squad for the remaining games is important.”

Moyes also reiterated that Louis Saha (ankle) will not feature again this season, while Marouane Fellaini is also still out with an ankle problem.

We would and should smash that side at home to be honest

Hope so, and that Arteta and Cahill won't be back to change that lineup. Will be harder if they are.

I never realised that we have won our last 12 Premier League home games. Here are a couple facts:

* Manchester United have won 12 successive PL home games, but they have never reached 13.

* Arsenal (13), Chelsea (13), Blackburn (13) & Newcastle (14) have longer PL winning home runs than Man Utd.

:nervous:

That means they're definitely back.

I'm sure Fergie would want to rest Giggsy for this one; we really could have done with Scholes or Fletcher.

Gibson has been decent in all his games since the disaster at Blackpool so he and Carrick would be decent. But we'd get zero creativity from them so we'd need to have all of Nani, Valencia, Rooney and Hernandez/Berba

Hibbert is their weak link so I hope Nani plays there, also I rather hope Rio will be rested against Schalke.

If Smalling plays, please don't go at the same ball as Vidic again. Twice on tuesday and that didn't cost ut when it was Lovendkrans who had the chance both times, but it will if Cahill plays.

Now did we need to know that?

Now did we need to know that?

lol - I had just read that stat and was coming to post .... figured some people might want to know (and make others even more nervous like it does me - am too superstitious)

Everton are a very good side.. This will be tougher than the Newcastle away

Excuse the 'CaptainObvious-ing', but this really is a huge game for us tomorrow. Win it, then that's the title more or less wrapped up I reckon. Fail to win it, then it gets very awkward from then on.

4-2 United, perhaps one of those games where we make a great come back or we get a late winner.

Good, then it's about time we rectify that, ain't it?

In other news:

Fergie: "Rafael back in squad, Berbatov slight groin strain & Fletcher back in training. Everyone else is okay."

He'll rest Giggs and Rio.

Everton is short of legitime strikers so I would give Vida a rest and start with Rio/Evans and Smalling.. Evra also should play as little as possible today.

Early kick off.But the boys know what they have to do and they'll do it. 3-1

No thanks he cost us points in the 3-3 draw at Goodison.

I'm glad you're not picking the team then. This game is huge. We need our first team out there and if Rio misses out then we definitely need Vidic back there.
