Manchester United vs. Everton

anybody else thinking Fergie might resort to playing Jones against Madrid?
If not in the starting line-up than probably off the bench if we're in a good position, that's my opinion.

Rafael is playing brilliant again and Jones isn't giving Fellaini a sniff. Good half so far although I find it very frustrating when we drop deep and invite pressure. Everton having almost 70% possession at one point isn't right.

I was beginning to think RvP was going to have a stinker... Hit the post after getting in, and while he got an assist, he had a shocker after that. But the measure of the man, he kept at it and got his goal.

Everton have played pretty well since going a goal down, but we've managed to finally punish them on the break again. Hopefully we can go for it a bit more on the offence in the second half instead of sitting back.

Game is in the balance we cant keep the ball but we've created the better chances. Need to hold possession feels like a away game.

Yeah, you'd have a case if it wasn't utter bollocks in those two cases. Catch those two? Stop being ridiculous.

Pff, I'm not going to argue with you because I'm too happy.

I've watched/played football long enough to know that the second one at least could have been caught.

Enjoy the rest of the game :boring:

Weird first half. We played awesome until we scored then decided to sit back and let Everton have the run of old Trafford, basically leaving Van Persie stranded on his own while Rooney played wide left. Then with 5 minutes to go until half time Clev flicks a pass on which deflects to Rooney who squares it almost to Van Persie and the side seems to remember what attacking looks like and low and behold a few minutes later we score against an Everton defence that looks porous.

PS) Everything I've said about Baines' woeful positioning is being shown in this first half. Van Persie is ghosting in behind him like he's not there and an out of form unconfident Valencia is treating him like an ignorable nuisance.

Jones is playing his role well but really struggles in possession. I don't think we can get away with that against Real.

Good half. The defence doing a good job putting their body on the line esp. Vidic. Giggs getting better as the season progress.

Anyone who wants Moyes as our next manager needs to give their head a wobble. This is shit on a stick hoofball that will not wash at Old Trafford.

Look at the players he's got, fecking Anichebe shouldn't even be a footballer for his size, he's the wrong sport. He should be a rugby player or somethig

Best half I've seen from Vidic since he returned. Great timing.

His buddy in the studio says Vidic still doesn't feel 100% he expects to be fully back to his normal self next season.

He's playing to their strenghts (he can hardly sign whoever he pleases), and in his defense it worked against United the first time.
I'm sure you could find a better example if you wanted to state your point.

They've not been exactly shit either, so I don't know what you're on about. (not that I'm saying Moyes would be my 1st choice for replacing Fergie)

That's the team in red doing that, not them. They've played so much better but luckily we have a bigger transfer budget and therefore better quality of players to finish what we get.

It is a case of tendencies mate, DDG does not come out with the intentions of catching the ball. He comes out to punch. It is a coaching issue, but one that will take a long time to eradicate. He cultivated that habit and was never corrected when growing up since I guess long balls were not part of the Spanish game so there were not many opportunities to notice this weakness when he came to the EPL.
He needs to put on some mass though.

RVP has definitely not been awful. Shit, that was a lot better than most of the performances Ronaldo used to put in during his last season.

I don't think DDG should have come out for the second one. He did alright for the first.

I agree, could have caught the second no bother. No big deal as it didn't come to anything.

Anyway, good half for the most part, started to slow down and Everton really got going but we were very solid in defence and with the second goal we should cruise the second half.
