Manchester United vs. Everton

Everton flooded the midfield and left Fellaini Smalling and Vidic on the ball. We are so bad in centre midfield it's embarrassing. As much as I think it's dumb if we lose against Newcastle Moyes will feel the heat.

I don't blame him, there is little quality from the wings or in Midfield. Evra is a liability at the back too.

He's a liabilty wherever he is. Can't cross but can get the odd goal. I love his commitment to the club and shirt and for all he's given but he now looks a poor defender

In a way, I hope Everton chanting riles him up. I need to see him get that us against the rest mentality. I don't have the liking for the appeasing personality. If he gets stronger from this, good for us. If not, we will move on when the time comes for it.

Without him too. We'll never Die

Fellaini looked OK tonight but with no creativity alongside, what could he do?

He is one, the bare basics be solid defensively, he is not. We need more quality in the middle, Giggs should not be playing, Valencia offers little, Welbeck too. Fergie really is the greatest manager ever.

No top 4 = no Rooney, no RVP, no Kagawa and potentially no De Gea. It's so easy to fall out of top 4 but ask Liverpool how hard it is to claw back up.

weve had opporunities to harness that mentality already this season. there have been many games i figured would be the kick up the arse. 2 points from 9 since arsenal win.

Vidic was poor. Lukaku gave him the run around. Welbeck was the worst player on the pitch. Rooney, Smalling and De Gea were our best players. Giggs was subdued. Fellaini was competent and only served to show how poor our midfield is. Kagawa should have stayed longer on the pitch

only the 1st time?

Yeah, I've always thought he'd need at least a season to adjust. however the major underinvestment in the squad is really telling, and it's becoming clear we may not even have CL football next season. I didn't think we'd be so far behind at this stage of the season.

I don't understand why when Kagawa was getting into the game end of the first half and looking likely to make something happen, that in the second half we shifted him over to the left and for the majority of the half based everything around the man who was by far the shittest player on the pitch.

I genuinely don't get it. Welbeck played like a fart missing a nostril and rather than take him off we made him central to everything until about 10 minutes to go. It's like we were rewarding him for being shit. If you're shit you should come off not be rewarded by playing in a more attacking position.

...this time in the right thread

That's what people are forgetting, if we finish outside the top 4 and the players don't think it is going to get better, the big players will want away. Who would blame a Rooney or RVP?

Midfield wasn't the issue for me. The issue was nothing sticking up front. Rooney cannot be a one man band all the time and once Kagawa came off we had nothing.

Nani came on and aside from the first touch did his usual thing of refusing to play the ball until he'd come to a complete halt for at least 10 seconds like he's Virgin Rail or something

The fouling at the end by us was ridiculous. That's honestly my biggest complaint of the game. We lost all of our composure, slowed down the game, and basically handed the impetus to Everton.

look at the goals weve conceded this season. basic , lazy fouling. real schoolboy stuff, an overused phrase very appropriate in our fouling this season

I dislike him with passion but he has been excellent today. Pretty much he had every decision spot on and let the game flow.

Must have watched a different game to me then because no one in OT thought he did a good job.

94% passing accuracy from 35 passes of Fellaini. Carrick-esque performance from him.

Yeah, backwards or sideways.

Unless the ref gives three penalties to the team people on stadium support they won't be happy anyway. He did very well and there isn't a single decision I disagreed with him. Saying that he didn't gave us anything is a joke, there wasn't anything big he could have given us, while he gave us a foul pretty much everytime Everton players made a foul offense.

I only saw the highlights but what surprised me was that Everton seemed to be the ones pressurizing for a goal towards the end rather than us, at Old Trafford that is disappointing to see.

Yeah last 10-15 minutes they were on top really. We went too gung-ho and lost all control of the game.

Just watched a reply, and over all I thought we were the better team out there. We really were unlucky not to get a goal. Generally we were able to limit everton's threat for most of the game and get forward rather well ourselves, particularly in the first half.

What I do find worrying about the game isn't the result, but how in the last ten minutes when we should have been the ones pushing forward to get a victory, instead it was Everton pressing on to get the win. It was basically the only period when they got on top during the game. I'm not sure what it is this season, but we can't seem to close games out, with goals being dropped late on in quite a few games now. We need to reverse this trend and get back to a case of us scoring goal at the death, not conceding them.

We've lost some games this season deservedly, but to me, this was a game we didn't deserve to lose. We had them pegged back for most of the second half, but just couldn't put the ball in the net.

For 80 minutes we looked very good, but it was very disappointing that we didn't boss the last 10 minutes. I've said it alot. We haven't done it since Fergie, thrown everything at them to get that last ditch winner. That was always the advantage of bringing on Hernandez. You don't really want him in the build up play, but you want him right in the box when you're pushing them further and further back, and he'll score with his face or his arse or the back of his head.

I thought their midfield would swarm us before the game, but I thought we handled the midfield very well for 80 minutes. Lee Dixon is on Twitter today saying Everton bossed the midfield. I really don't think that is true.

We are conceding alot in the last 10, which is hard to take, because that's what we're supposed to be doing to other teams.

I've seen/heard this a fair bit this morning... I really don't see how it's the case though.

What was Giggs doing thinking to be cute near our own box, resulting in dangerous situations in each half? Expected better from someone of his experience.

Absolutely baffling, especially with his added responsibility as a coach. Hospitalised us in the blink of an eye there. A boot up the pitch would probably have spared a few blushes. He'll probably get away without a bollocking either.

Moyes will probably tell Giggs to be the one to tell Giggs off.
