He might go on to volley one in from the edge and have fans dabbing but Lingard on the left has never worked before and it isn’t now. Ander Herrera is playing the captain from the touchline, directing Eric Bailly. He and Martial are the only two warming up now and either would probably be welcomed warmly onto the pitch by United supporters.
