Lindegaard

Jones
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Nani

Rooney
Berbatov

SUBS: de Gea, Fabio, Fletcher, Park, Owen, Hernandez, Welbeck.

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Jones
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Fabio

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Anderson
LM: Nani

CF: Berbatov
CF: Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Evra, Evans, Fletcher, Park, Young, Rooney

Could easily be another 3-3 if the players mentality isn't right

We don't need Rooney/Hernandez or Nani/Young to beat this team. I hope they all get a rest but we are only playing Sunderland at home.

Apart from Vidic because of suspension, I don't want anymore rotating in the back 5. We need to start getting a solid back 5 now.

I'm going to this match.

-------------De Gea--------------
Jones------Rio-----Evans-----Evra
Nani-----Carrick---Anderson---Park
---------Rooney--Chicharito-------

Subs: Lindegaard, Fabio, Fletcher, Valencia, Welbeck, Owen, Berbatov.

Don't know what's happening with Young, Giggs or Smalling. Is Rafael training yet?

We're due a good performance now. I did not expect one at Goodison - I never expect good performances away from home, sadly - but there should really be no excuse this time.

I'm pretty confident we should be banging in the goals for this game. 6-0.

Code:
                Lindegaard

Jones Ferdinand Evans Fabio

Valencia Carrick Anderson Nani

            Berbatov Owen

SUBS:
De Gea, Rafael, Evra, Park, Fletcher, Hernandez, Welbeck

Really undecided here...

de Gea or Lindegaard
Ferdinand & Evans CB
Two from Jones / Evra / Fabio
Valencia, Carrick, Anderson, Nani
Berbatov
Giggs, Rooney, Welbeck, Owen could all take the last slot, I think Hernández wouldn't start.

There will be lots of changes but it will be a very strong side as we must win this game.

VidaRed is back, the goals should come back now

yeah!!!!!!get in!!!

----------------------lindegaard------------------------

jones---------ferdinand---------evans-------------evra

valencia-------carrick----------anderson----------nani

---------------rooney----------berbatov--------------

No Giggs, Rafael, Smalling or Young. I would suspect if Rio is fit again he'll be saved for Sunderland.

.........Lindegaard
Fryers Evans Jones Fabio
.....Carrick Anderson
Valencia Berbatov Park
.............Owen

--------------De Gea-------------

Fabio-----Ferdinand---Evans-----Evra

Nani-----Carrick------Anderson---Park

---------Welbeck-----Hernandez------

subs
Lindegaard
Jones
Vidic
Morrison
Fletcher
Rooney
Owen

Didn't even realise Giggs was injured.. Most of this team picks itself then I guess:

Lindegaard
Fábio Ferdinand Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Anderson Nani
Berbatov
Rooney
--
de Gea; Jones; Fletcher, Cleverley, Park; Welbeck, Owen

Hernández is probably the only other player likely to make the 18, and maybe Amos..

It's a good game to play the likes of Fábio, Valencia, Carrick, Berbatov, and even Lindegaard who need games and don't exactly weaken the side when they're brought in. It doesn't take away the fact that this is a must-win game and I think that side still reflects this. If we don't get a goal in the first 20 minutes or so I can see this being another game similar to when we played Rangers. We've already experienced how tough they are to break down from the first game. I think Berbatov and Nani could provide the trickery required to pull of something special and unlock them. While the likes of Anderson, Rooney, Valencia will usually provide the more direct approach and lots of running. We could also include Cleverley on the bench to provide more creativity from midfield and Owen to take advantage of tired legs for the last 25 minutes.

If we take the lead I think we'll win comfortably, unlike in the Basel match.

Patrice needs a break. Other than that, no dicking around with the team

this, but I am sure Fergie will make some changes though. It be nice to see Carrick and Nani get back into a team for a change.

Rafael has been training for around 10 days now.
Any chance of him being involved?

Should be interesting. When the draw was made, I expected us to play some kids in this one, but the feckup against Basel ruined that.
Wouldnt be surprised to see Fryers make the bench tho. Especially if Rafael isnt ready and Smalling, Vidic are unavailable.

Looking forward to this. Should be a more relaxing game than the Everton away.

Basel away and Benfica at home.
Second strings after this would be unlikely, unless we arent overly fussed about finishing top.

win this and benfica match we are through. don't leave it till the last game in Basel.

I don't quite get why so many people are suggesting League Cup players for the Champions League.

I'd quite like us to have a crack at winning it again this year, thank you very much, lets qualify from our group strongly if you don't mind...

Before

Team W D L Pts
Benfica 2 1 0 7
Man Utd 1 2 0 5
Basel 1 1 1 4
Oțelul 0 0 3 0

and hopefully after:

Team W D L Pts
Man Utd 2 2 0 8
Benfica 2 1 1 7
Basel 2 1 1 7
Oțelul 0 0 4 0

This could end up being a very tight group.

It'll be tight but at least we've just got to (probably) win 2 home games to qualify. A win against Galati and a goalless draw with Benfica could, depending on other results, put United through by virtue of a Ryan Giggs away goal on MD1. Let's just go out and get the wins and get this thing wrapped up asap though!
