Manchester United vs. FC Oțelul Galați

HT. 1-0

I'm not very happy with that and neither will Fergie. We haven't learned the lesson about complacency. We've been making silly mistakes all over the pitch and have been coasting this game since we scored.

I don't think our attackers and midfielders have done enough in that half. We should be playing at a higher tempo, creating more chances and aiming to secure the result. If we're not serious we could blow this one.

70% possesion 7 attempts on goal

Feel a bit for Berbatov that half, he's taken up three or four great positions in promising attacking situations and he's never got the ball!

I don't know if its overconfidence or fear but for whatever reason we've been unbelievably slack in possession and some of our passing has been pretty awful. We just need to get it together a bit and start getting the basics right, that will settle the team down and help us get the second goal and kill off the match.

I'm fighting to stay awake and the stream I'm paying for is really shit. Is anyone fairing better in their thieving ways?

Well, we're ahead and we have a lot of the ball.

Apart from those, it's been dire. Valencia, goal aside, has not really been in the game and the less said about Nani, the better. And Berbatov needs to pull himself together.

Rooney and Anderson aren't bad, to be fair, though they haven't set the world on fire either.

Public transport has just fecked me up and only just in the door. Cannot rememeber last time I missed even a bit of a game

Anyone care to briefly sum the half up for me

There's been no effort and a collectively piss poor attitude across the field from United. I don't mind a lack of form, but this performance is just rank laziness.

Very few players emerging with any credit.

Well that, and the midfield was again very average. It's a sign of a midfield that's not working well when you the centrebacks just keep passing the ball amongst each other struggling to get the ball forward.

cracking stream, it's foreign but i'm more than happy

This Gaddafi Sports stream is terrifyingly crap.

We scored a goal. De Gea made a good save. We passed the ball around the back for the rest of the time.

We just lack the intensity tonight, two of our best players have been Jones and Fabio who are young and hungry, the rest of the team is ambling around at times. The touch is poor as is the execution, I don't mind us conserving and controlling like we are but considering this is the first home game since that match I'd have liked to see us smash the daylights out of Galati. Jones is a player though isn't he, much more of a fullback than Smalling too because he seems like he's got a pretty decent cross on him. Oh and someone please shoot Wilkins, my word does he get on my tits.

Pogba on for the 2nd half please.

Valencia scored to get us ahead, we have the ball all the time but don't do anything with it, except if Jones tries something. De Gea saved our ass with a great save near the end of the first half.

Cleverleys partnership with Anderson since he got injured is whats happened.

That partnership is certainly a promising one, but I feel like we're all investing too much on Cleverley's return sorting everything out. He's not such a key player that his loss should lead to such a dip in our standard of play.

Too many of our players seem to be off form recently and have been playing sloppily, I don't know what's going on, but it's a bigger issue than just Cleverley being out I think.

Seeing our defense it's really no surprise that we conceded 6 against City.

Very true and Fabio is to be blamed for this, could and should have released the ball far early in two occasions that Berba was in free space.
But in saying that my bias towards forwards who just stand there when we don't have the ball makes me not appreciate Berba as much as I should. I will sub him for Welbeck in a heart beat.

Just got in, any good non sopcast streams doing the rounds?

A bit of a lifeless performance. We've had a lot of possession (as expected) but spent most of it passing it amongst the centrebacks or once in awhile from centre back to midfielder and back. Did better in the last 10 minutes when we actually managed to started to pass the ball a little further up the pitch but it's been a poor performance.

On a positive note, Jones has played very well in the right back role and could have scored a beautiful goal which was blocked by a defender. And to be fair to him, Rooney was great when he was on the ball. But he isn't really the guy you want taking the ball of the centre backs. Anderson should be doing that much better than he has (he hasn't).

I thought that, but the difference when Cleverley is in the team and more importantly the difference with Anderson partnered with him has been the biggest change in the last 5 weeks.

Some talented young men have done well for themselves but my word it's been brutal.

It hasnt been that boring.
Its been as expected. More goals are always nice, but a midweek CL group stage game against a side that dont pose too much threat is very likely to be a dull, get the job done, kind of a match.

We stepped it up towards the end to look for another before the break.

This is like watching an England friendly, and both teams are England.

And every player on the pitch is Rooney being played out of position.

Oh wait, it's just one Rooney playing out of position, but he's had the ball the entire 45 minutes, and still managed not looking that amazing.

My stream has some nice graphics on it in the half time analysis. I wonder what they are saying, I have it mute.

My laptop is starting to burn my leg but I can't be arsed moving.

Just thought you'd all like to know that.

MW3 looks awesome.

Otelul are some right dirty feckers as well. Those CBs have been at it, as they were in Romania.

I don't think they like Berbatov much either. He's from Transylvannia afterall, so should be expected really.

Anderson has been amazingly pointless in the first half. I guess it's because Rooney has done so well acting clueless in CM that Anderson is confused as to what he's supposed to do. He thinks Rooney has stolen his role.

Rooney's passing was pretty good. Hernandez and Nani could do better with their passing in the final third though.

Credit to the visiting team. They are playing very well and so far do not look like they've come to park the bus, in spite what the possession is
