Manchester United vs. Fulham FC

Our last 10 home results against Fulham, which I posted in the 'Manchester Title Race' thread:

2001-2: United 3-2 Fulham
2002-3: United 3-0 Fulham
2003-4: United 1-3 Fulham
2004-5: United 1-0 Fulham
2005-6: United 4-2 Fulham
2006-7: United 5-1 Fulham
2007-8: United 2-0 Fulham
2008-9: United 3-0 Fulham
2009-10: United 3-0 Fulham
2010-11: United 2-0 Fulham

7 straight home win, 9 out of last 10. For all the trouble they've given us at Craven Cottage, at OT we've had our way with them.

What's up with all the MNF hating. It's nice to have something to look forward to on grim Mondays! Although, I'm heading to Malaga for a few days on Sunday, So'll I'll be watching this one with a cold beer in sunny Spain :D

Having Valencia back is huge for us and our run in. He is vital to our creativity. Hopefully he can stay fit for the remainder of the season.

Just going with the majority here because it is simply the best team to pick:

de Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Scholes
Valencia Rooney Young
Welbeck
--
Amos; Smalling, Jones; Pogba, Cleverley, Giggs; Hernandez

Only other change is Nani on the bench for me but I don't know who would get replaced. Pogba is finally getting into the side so he could keep the bench slot. Although, I'm unsure on the fitness of Nani himself, and Jones.. So we'll see. I'd like at least Hernandez and Cleverley to get on for Welbeck and Scholes, though.

Reckon they'll give us a tough game but we'll run out 3-0 winners and be on top.

DDG

Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra

Scholes Carrick Cleverly

Valencia Rooney Welbeck

I know we won't line up like this, but it would be exciting if we did. Still haven't seen Scholes and Cleverly together. Think were missing a big trick there.

^^ To be honest I'd really like to see that team.

I'd be interested to see how those front 6 combined.

This is the easiest home game of the season.

As long as we approach it with a proper mindset, we'll have no problem.

Jol sets his team up to be extremely expansive and that will play into our hands.

They don't really play the personnel to grind out a result. They've converted Dembele into a central midfielder and they play Murphy as the only recognised midfielder. Diarra looked off the pace against Swansea by all accounts.

We could have a field day.

 over the opening day of the 2006/2007 season - how we demolised them that day!
My train broke down on that day and I only arrived 35 minutes into the game when it was 4-0 :( best seats I've ever had too, level with the penalty spot in the south stand, pretty much where Ronaldo's volley was celebrated :(

Not that I'm bitter about it or anything...

Monday night. feck off. Working can't watch the game. Anyway, I reckon we will come through this quite comfortably. 2-0 win.

DDG
Rafael
Rio
Evans
Evra
Valencia
Scholes
Carrick
Young
Rooney
Welbeck

Prefer Welbeck and Young to start, Nani to come off the bench if he is fit again and Hernandez also. RB could be Smalling or Jones, but Rafael is worth the place.

Everything points to a straightforward win since there is no need to rest players or play an experimental side like against Blackburn.

We should be beating these handy.

Thats not me saying it's a walkover but teams like Fulham should be easily beaten at home by any team with aspirations of winning the league.
Games are nicely spaced out too so we can play the best available 11 all the time.
4-1 united.

Haven't we lost all games since the Manchester derby if Park is in the starting XI?

We've lost 8 matches of the last 10 that Park started. We did beat Wigan and Stoke with him the in the side though both of which have been since the Manchester derby in the league.

I expect nothing less than a win. Really should score a few goals to improve our gd as well.

Let's just win this and pile the pressure on them. It's a must win game and we will. :)

Actually City play on Saturday while we play on Monday. If City win their game the pressure will be on us.

Wow.

So we've actually resorted to blaming PJS for those defeats when he's played?

Would anyone care to list the fixtures? Or are we just going to baselessly criticise?

No, we're not blaming him. But he's been shite this season.

We don't have many games left, there are usually seven days between our league games, so we won't be rotating too much and he's nowhere near the starting line-up or even bench.

I wouldn't pay much attention to that Park record. Remember, Bale went ages without a win in the league. I'd point out the fact he's been rubbish instead.

Park's recent record is just a strange quirky fact

What isn't quirky however is Park's recent form though which is why he won't play much

I dread to think how few fans they'll bring. I really like Fulham, but their traveling support is woeful at the best of times - let alone for a midweek game. Seriously reckon it'll be about 100.

Adjusted after Nani news

Code:
                 de Gea

Rafael Evans Ferdinand Evra

Valencia Carrick Scholes Young

            Rooney Welbeck

SUBS:
Amos, Smalling, Jones, Pogba, Giggs, Cleverley, Hernandez

We'll win 3-1 or 4-1. There is no way we will let this opportunity slip up after today, Fergie will see to it

Dunno what to do about this match, do I...

A) Miss it and have to just check the result, in order to keep the plans I've made with my GF?

or

B) Tell he I can't see her because I wanna watch the football, and piss her off further having already cancelled plans today?

Monday night football is shit. feck you SKY.
