I love Scholes but he did look a bit off, very bold of SAF to drop him, Nani and Rooney also, but it's hard to disagree.

Nani should have been on the bench at least. It's clearly some discipline/contract issue; as it stands we have three strikers among the subs...
Rooney was probably left out for being shit, nothing more. It's also heartwarming to see that Fergie will not move Kagawa wide/drop him for the sake of playing Rooney and Van Persie together.

Even though he was awful, I would've preferred Rooney starting as I want him to get an understanding with Kagawa and RVP as quickly as possible and he's not going to do that from the bench.

It shouldn't be. We'd be left with two actual wide players and Ashley Young is hardly an undroppable world class performer.
If Nani is sold, we will be forced to pray that Welbeck or Rooney quickly grasps what being a wide forward is all about.

Why? He was shocking last week, maybe needs more of a rest after the summer or something but a good kick up the hole might be just as effective.

40 million though? There'd still be time to get a replacement too, someone like isco, or muniain. Not saying I want him gone because I love nani on form but SAF has never seemed to trust him and was always much more harsh with him then others, like leaving him out of the squad completely after a poor game.
