I wonder why teams like Fulham never put much effort in this kind of competition. It's not like they have a lot to fight for in the league (they're safe and they won't go down) and this could be their ticket to Europe as well as a good trophy that would go down well on their history cards. They had the odd good run in Europa League in 2010 but otherwise they've been piss poor in cup competitions, much like plenty of other mid-table sides who never care.

With the amount of crap below them - Reading, Wigan, Villa and QPR aren't capable of winning much, I'd say they should be pretty safe, two of them would have to overtake Fulham to send them down and I cannot see which two are going to pick their performances up enough to close down the gap. QPR are 10 points behind them so you can exclude them, it'd have to be 2 of the other 3.
TBF to Fulham, they have lost 3 of their best player in Dempsey, Dembele and Murphy.
