Not all that controversial, a bit silly seeing as he's been played as a centre back before and still not looked very composed but yes I do think that he's playing with more composure on the ball recently, as he did in his first season as United.

Helps immensely when your centre half can join in with the play. Smalling at centre back is huge.

You'd be surprised. I've made the point on here before and it's not been well received. His performances at right back have lead people to believe he is absolutely hopeless on the ball in general.

Yeah it's a shame. A lot of United fans want Smalling sold because of his performances at right back, when he's been so much better at centreback. Deserves to stay and deserves a first team spot.

It's clear to me that our back four should have phil Smalling Evans and evra or replacement Smalling needs to play inside not out wide

Really do hope Smalling, and Jones, get a proper chance at CB next season. Smalling in particular I think is very good.
I've seen Lawrence three times and each time he's look excellent.
