Manchester United vs. Hull City

Scholes will start. Hull will park the bus and Scholes still has the creativity and passing to absolutely tear apart these teams. Fletch and Ando will have enough energy to compensate for the slow footed Scholes.

Apart from 2 horrendous games, Scholes has been pretty fecking good this year. His passing is still world class and he is so composed and know when to hold on the ball or go for a cross field pass.

Drop - Evans and Anderson.
Play - Vidic and Nani.
Get Berbatov back in the side.

There's goals in this for us. It'd be good to go to the Emirates top of the table and with some form.

0-2 to Hull
The caf dissolves.
Fergie finally cusses out the Glazers for lack of spending money and along with Paddy vows to fight with MUST.
Fergie and Paddy are fired. The fans decide to boycott OT till the end of the year.
The Glazers decide to pull out and sell out for 600M to a consortium of MUST and Mick Jagger.
The fans take over the club.

Come On Hull !!!!!!!!

Why drop Giggs? He has hardly played since sometime around christmas! Anyway, he usually gives us the cutting edge that we seem to lack when he's not in the side.
Play him and he contributes with a goal or an assist.

Looks quite likely that Berbatov will be back in the squad basing on Diouf and Welbeck starting for the reserves tonight, Macheda on the bench and it is not like SAF will go with 1 striker at home against Hull.

Perhaps start Owen and have Berbatov available if needed.

Obertan starting for reserves as well - which more than likely means not even on bench on Saturday.

If we get an early goal we'll probably score four or more. Hull's defence (Myhill aside) is a joke.

Van der Sar
Rafael - Brown - Vidic - Evra
Valencia - Carrick - Scholes - Nani
Rooney - Berbatov

We rarely see Rooney behind another striker.

I'd go as far saying that Rooney should actually play behind 2 strikers.

Would love to see this:

VDS
Rafael Vidic Evans Fabio
Fletch Scholes Anderson
-------Rooney
-----Diouf Owen.

Won't happen though

Width is really important when trying to break down teams that simply park the bus. That team would offer very little.

442 please.

1 good game doesnt make him a top keeper. We'll score. 4 i reckon.

So, do we play Brown at RB with Evans and Rio in the middle? Or do we rest one of our CB's and give Rafael the nod?

I'd go with Rafael every time and go for the throat in the 1st minute.

I'd play Brown at RB purely to help defend set pieces.

Rest Evra. Need him against City and Arsenal.

It's a good call. I was worried about what sort of condition we'll be in after Hull and City, going into the Arsenal game.

Van Der Sar and Ferdinand are both back and need the games. I'd get Vidic in asap as well so that we can get those three back in the groove together. Stick Wesley out on the right and I think we're laughing.

I've a feeling we'll smash Hull out of the park.

In the early part of the season, Chelsea took all the plaudits. Now Arsenal have been showered with praise. Hopefully it's United's turn to turn on the style.

OK. Just read on the Beeb:

- Ferdinand back.
- O'Shea could be out for the season.
- Vidic out for 2 weeks; in contention for Milan.
- Berbatov has recovered from a dead leg.

VDS
Brown-Ferdinand-Evans-Fabio

Rooney-Berbatov

Any news on why Nani was not included against City? Hope he gets the nod here because he did well in the last league match.

I expect Neville to play. He wont get much action against City or Arsenal so Hull is his best chance. Would not be surprised to see Fabio in for Evra and Owen in for Rooney (to partner Berba) as these two have had a lot of football recently and this seems the only opportunity to rest them before two massive games.

I imagine/hope he was rested (first game back from injury) and will start against Hull. I'd like to see him start against Arsenal too for the record and start Giggs against Shitty.

Can't see Rooney getting any rest - games are must win from here till the end.

As far as Nani - what RedSky said - played full 90 right after coming back from long lay off, there was going to be a lot of running required against Shitty, so probably was left out. I'd wager he'll start tomorrow.

Let's kick their ass so we will be in form for the City game.

You got the badges the wrong way round. We are at home.

Okay, with the recent news, I'd expect this:

van der Sar
Neville Ferdinand Brown Evra
Valencia Fletcher Carrick Nani
Berbatov Rooney
--
Subs: Kuszczak; Rafael, Evans; Scholes, Obertan; Owen, Diouf

I'm not sure if Ferdinand + Evans is the best combination, as both are similar defenders to me, while it's the same situation with Brown and Vidic. So I'd say Ferdinand and Brown for this. Resting Evra seems like a good call, but I think confidence and trying to step into some consistency will do us better than a rest - despite Evra consistently performing. Hoping for Fletcher and Carrick to start, get a grip on things, then bring one off early for Scholes, probably Fletcher. Everything else kind of picks itself - Giggs rested after having played against City, Nani given another shot (if fit). Berbatov back in as he's scored in like three starts in a row or something in the Premier League, must be a record for him at United.

I think it'll go one of two ways. We'll either get that fairly early breakthrough and it'll be a whitewash, like the Wigan (H) game, which could've been any number, or it'll be one of those days when we put pressure on and it just doesn't quite click for us really. I'm still fairly confident we'll win this one though, even if one or two big names will probably be excluded in favour of a mid-week appearance.

It is nice to see us batter teams though, when we can, and Hull are certainly one of the more frail teams defensively.

big win needed but as usual i will be happy with the 3 points and a decent performance

That's what some of us see and I agree with you. Unfortunately some just think he plays shit regardless of whether he was or not.

Now that players are getting back it's now extremely tricky to predict the line-up. I'd say these guys are dead-certs judging on recent games with who has and hasn't played:

van der Sar, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Scholes, Anderson, Rooney, Berbatov.

With any of Neville, Rafael, Brown, Evans, Carrick, Fletcher, Park, Nani and Giggs all in contention to fill the remaining spots.

van der Sar

Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra

Valencia Fletcher Carrick Nani

Owen Rooney

Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Scholes, Anderson, Giggs, Diouf

This is a game I'd like to see Anderson start, but after his nightmare against City, I doubt Fergie will give him the chance. Hopefully Owen gets a start or maybe even The One. Think we'll thrash them... 4-0. Carrick, Owen, Evra, and Rooney to score.

Even with Berba fit I want Owen to start. We desperately need him to be match sharp and a game like this I think we can afford for him to start. Berbatov for Shitty or Arse.

Anyway - looked at the listings and doesn't seem like game on tele in U.S. FSC is showing FA Cup and so is Setanta. What do people use for streams (software and/or sites)?
