This will be the game we see Carrick put in his best performance yet. I have confidence in the lad and this sunday is the perfect time for him to show us what he's made of..

I fecking hate it when we go into these games as big favourites.
We always seem to do better against the good teams, and Liverpool, when we are underdogs with half the team out injured.
Oh well, hope we stuff the feckers, 3-nil.

Agreed apart from I would much prefer Evra to O'Shea, I understand the height problem he would have here but Evra is looking excellent at the moment and this is the sort of game he would relish. High tempo, rivalry, oppositions legs...that sorta thing would get him into his kamikaze form.
 
I think we will se either Fletcher or O'Shea from the start. You never know with Fergie, but probably he will play with one of them.

I don't want this team but I would not be surpried if Fergie go for this.

Gerrard will probably be playing on the right for them, so yes, I would have O'Shea there because 1) his height and 2) he is better defensively than Evra.
 
Agreed O'Shea shouldnt be on the pitch. Evra deserves to start the game. We could do with his bombing runs forward and all round he is a much better player than Sheasy. We have plenty of height in the centre of defence with Vida and Rio.
 
My only worry with Evra is if Gerrard is playing that inside right role he usually plays for them. I think he could give Evra a hiding if Evra goes around like a headless chook.

Would love Gaby there to give Gerrard a good kicking.

Positionally he would be a better option then Evra, but I noticed Evra was much better yesterday in that sense. I think O'Shea whilst good back-up would get run ragged by Gerrard. I would prefer to see Evra there because he will really get at Gerrard as long as he doesn't go too far forward, for me this is a perfect test to see Evra's defensive capabilities. As a plus point he also links excellently with Ronaldo.
