Manchester United vs. LOSC

Time for Smith.

Rooney should rest couple of days more, after that kick from Carra, IMO.

I think he would start Giggs alongside Larsson if Wazza needed rest, and if Giggs was out, it would be Ronnie. Smith is like 8th choice.

That means we must be very optimistic about Wazza recovery. :nervous:

He's fit for tomorrow.

The only question now about tomorrow's lineup, is who out of Park or O'Shea will play. It will either be Carrick-O'Shea in the middle or Carrick-Giggs, IMO.

Also, maybe there is a question of who will start at LB, but I would expect Heinze to play. Maybe Sly though? I guess there are two question marks about tomorrow.

Yep, propably tommorow we will also receive answer about Saha's injury, too.

Just checked the odds on betfair and we are 1.06 to qualify tommorrow!!!
I've never seen the odds so low for only being 1-0 up.

Damn you Lille! Damn you with your two railway stations, your major river port, your large student population and your fine arts museum!

Sure, you gave the world Charles De Gaulle and the poet Albert Samain, but does it really compare with Manchester, birthplace of Shaun Ryder and Take That?

Tonight you will be beaten down like its the War of Spanish Succession all over again!

the ref wont allow any quick free kicks ..
i hope lille get a free kick , the ref holds his whistle up , those bastards dont see it , take it quickly, score .. and the ref disallows is

ok i know that wont happen .. hope it does

Let's beat the sh*t out of these annoying cnuts !....... This is my last post, for now, as I'm just about to leave my house in the West of Ireland to go to my local airport !.........Next stop, "Trafford Arms " & then "O.T." !...... yippee!

Tackling: HARD

Set-pieces
Corner right: Giggs
Corner left: Carrick/Ronaldo
Penalties: Ronaldo
Freekicks left: Ronaldo
Freekicks right: Giggs

Captaincy: Gary Neville
Playmaker: Paul Scholes

Scout Report
Eric Harrison has noted Lille are a bunch of whining cnuts, he suggest we finish them off early to put an end to their ridiculous hopes. Tackle them hard, as they will get angered and more importantly card-receiving. He has also acknowledged you about their pacy striker Odemwingie, it's suggested you put him to sleep by placing a man-marker on him, namely Nemanja Vidic. Their key-man is obviously the workhouse Jean II Makoun, but he should be erased by the football-braining of the master of disaster, Scholes.

Little worried about our form.If we play the way we have been doing for the past few games we'll get beat.Need to rediscover our early form.

Yeah, we've been extremely shite and lucky the last 4 games.

They've all been away mind.

I´m a bit nervous as I can see this really kick off into something ugly. Those frogeating bastards are famous for their elbowing and play acting, I can really see Nev and rooney reacting to some crap only to get redcarded as a reward...

I'm glad the arrows were include so Ronaldo and Giggsy will know which way to attack.

1 thing i have started wondering as we approach this game is what with Rooney and Ronaldo never seemingly scoring in this competition and Saha and possibly Scholes out through injury - where will the goals come from?

That's where you've got it wrong. In the last 3 away games, especially with the physically competitive side of Lille, Reading & Fulham, we were not going full blooded in the challenges and the 50-50 balls. It was as if, Fergie had said - "Ok, these guys are very good physically - we'll give them that. Let's focus on putting them off and getting to the second balls, instead of competing directly and physically. In any case, we can avoid injuries from these challenges (And if we can avoid injuries, we can still have a good chance in the game and in the title run-in)."

When they had the ball - we weren't pressing them - we just made sure we get organised to defend and deny them space to play. When they play the long balls, we just dropped to defend deeper and relied on the swift counter-attack.

What makes you think we'll play the same way at home?

In the "quick pressing" aspect - Lille are still as strong physically as they were 2 weeks ago and still hold this advantage over us. Nothing has changed in this dept for us over 2 weeks and we carry the bigger risk here in coming off second best (injuries is the biggest risk to our title run-in).

We won't play the same game at home as compared to 2 weeks ago at Lens. Other aspects will change. I expect we will be moving the ball about faster and more coordinated with more players joining the attack quickly, esp. the CMs, instead of relying on the front 2 to breakaway quickly. The 2 fullbacks will press forward faster and importantly one of the 2 CMs will join the attack faster than it was in Lens. During the away game, both Carrick AND Scholes sat in front of the 2 CBs for the majority of the time, and was very cautious about venturing forward.

I hope Gabby plays, these fecks need to be treated to some good ol' Argie elbow magic. That throat punch on Ronaldo was grounds for banning IMO.

I can't believe we still live in the stone age of "if the ref didn't see it, it's all good."

agreed, gaby is still a personal fave of mine and always good value to give the oppo a good raping.

Rooney
Larsson

I do worry that with Lille's pace with Keita and Odemwingie that we could be exposed along the left side. Vidic definetly has to pick his form up. The defense has generally been keeping clean sheets but making errors nonetheless.
Midfield is as we would expect - at OT Lille will sit deep and so it is up to us to take the game to them.
Larsson to hopefully give us a show on his last game.

I expect this to be the game that United finally really come good in Europe with Rooney and Ronaldo on song.
