Not certain, but can not City appeal and in so doing delay the process allowing Adebayor to play?
 
I'm pretty gutted that it looks like Tevez won't be playing, I was looking forward to giving him 90 minutes of abuse.

I checked the rules. Looks like you can't appeal decisions like this, ie stuff not seen by match officials, unless the penalty is in excess of three games. And even then you can only appeal to have the ban reduced, but not to less than three games, which probably means the ban will take effect right away even if he appeals. So I'm quite sure there's no way he'll play on Sunday if he's found guilty.

And he also risks being suspended for an extra game if he contests it (if contesting it is deemed frivolous, which it should be).
