Manchester United vs. Middlesbrough

The correct lineup, Nani for Park after 65 minutes and the cafe blasting him for being a useless greedy annoying fecker.

Poor old Nani overlooked again,He needs to start looking at the man in the mirror and change His ways.On a serious note,It's a squad game and park hasn't been poor tbh and nani should be on bench and will start or be involved in the cup game's most probably.

Have to say without scholes or Anderson im a little bit worried about creativity and penetration through the middle. Going by our form of late anyway. Who knows we are due a bit of form!

Come on united

Looking at that bench I'm hoping we arnt looking for a goal late again.

so we have no strikers to bring on when the game becomes a stalemate

The Bench is MENTAL :| wtf? Boro is not an easy game, so having Gib, Possebon, and Welbeck on the bench isn't the smartest of moves :| Scholes will be shagged after his last match imo.

This is gonna be a nervey affair I feel.

Now we will win one nil, Gibson makes a goal line clearance to Possebon, who holds up the ball for a couple secs till Scholes is in a decent position, who will in turn knock a perfect ball for Welbeck, who will then round the keeper and slot it home.

(Note, Gibson doesn't come on as a sub, he's just warming up near the goal when he see's the ball heading for the net :))

Carrick is creative from the centre though and a better player than anderson at present time. You could state for fletcher but this combination has worked well before and offers good balance.

Not too many complaints with the team. Park is playing to cover young Rafaels attacking exploits, even though Park has all the technical attributes he isn't as direct as Ronaldo or Nani.

The bench is a bit lacking to be honest tho, cannot believe there is no Nani, Anderson or Tevez. Why do we have 3 center mids on the bench too in Scholes, Possebon and Gibson?

where the hell is Tevez, Nani and Anderson? :wenger:

I wouldn't think too much of it, we do have a few cup games coming up in the next few weeks - FA Cup against Southampton and our two CC games against Derby plus our game in hand after Chelsea. All these extra games in the next several weeks, so we'll need to use the squad as best we can. Don't see anything wrong with it TBH.

Id love to see that team, saf will probably go with:

vds

neville vidic evans o'shea

ronaldo fletcher carrick park

tevez berbatov

Well struggle with this team, lacks creativity.

Not far off was i :) i think we may struggle in this game and the bench isnt great either. our next game is sunday so weve got alot of recovery time. this game is vital and we should be at FULL strength...were not. all will be forgotten however if we get the result as brwnd said.

so we have no strikers to bring on when the game becomes a stalemate

We have two strikers on the pitch who'll be able to get us a goal no matter what time of the match it is. Plus we have young Welbeck on the bench and we know how well he did when he came on against Stoke not so long ago, people should chill out and just wait & see, stop fretting.

Sure Fergie has perfectly good reasons for that bench.

I hope we take our chances because if we don't we could feck up tonight.

Can't believe Tevez, Nani and Anderson aren't included at all.

Atleast put the black Pele on the bench

Looks like we are rotating our squad for the FA Cup and Carling Cups games ahead. Sir Alex has picked a side who are good enough to get the job done tonight and we must believe in their ability. Tevez, Nani, Anderson, etc will play in the next games, im sure of that.

Boro playing with 3 strikers, Alves starts.

TEAMS Man Utd v Middlesbrough

Man Utd:
Van der Sar, Rafael Da Silva, Vidic, Evans, O'Shea, Park, Fletcher, Carrick, Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov.

Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, Giggs, Scholes, Welbeck, Gibson, Possebon.

Middlesbrough: Turnbull, Bates, Riggott, Wheater, Pogatetz, Aliadiere, O'Neil, Arca, Downing, Sanli, Alves.

Subs: Jones, Taylor, Emnes, Huth, Shawky, Porritt, Walker.

Possebon or Gibson should have been left out for Anderson imo...

If Tevez really is as knackered as he looked after the last match, maybe Welbeck was a decent choice.

Aliadiere will probably play on the Right Wing, i think it could be a open game and it will be a high scoring game.

On Welbeck and Possebon being on the bench I hope we are in a comfortable position so they can get some game time. Both have the skill to make it at Old Trafford and I'm surprised both haven't been utilized more.

Gibson I could take or leave, whilst I think he could be a decent squad man I cannot see much more.

Gareth Southgate seems to be the latest manager to fall foul of the fickle beast that is Premier League 08/09. All of a sudden, his Boro side are hovering dangerously above the drop zone. They'll be relieved they're at Old Trafford then, where they've only lost once in five visits.

Great record for them.
