Manchester United vs. Newcastle United

Precisley the point lads, rooneyis short of match fitness and needs minutes. Berbatov obviously is match fit and has got a goal which has done him a world of good no doubt. Hernandez should come on so we can see his partnership with rooney, and because he'll most likely score if given the chance.

rooney may be short of match fitness but this form is what we saw in the world cup too. I know he will come good just needs a goal no matter how it comes even like off his mouth like hernandez:smirk:

Rooney will probably go off at the hour mark. Evra too. Both look unfit.

He looks fit but lacking in match sharpness.

Rooney looks unfit at times and lacking in sharpness. Though might as well keep him on and hope he can nick a goal somehow.

Slow start but becoming a lot better, Nani and Evra running riot down the left and Berbatov is playing brilliantly.

We scored thanks to 2 mistakes (Jonas, J.Enrique)

Newcastle didn't play bad till that moment

After the 1-0 they showed all their weaknesses, tactically and technically above all

Still three red shirts in the box to attempt to aim at if he had LOOKED UP

Actually it was a pretty good ball. He meant for Scholes to run onto it and smash it in but you could see for a split second in the corner of the screen that Scholes was flat-footed. Not really Nani's fault.

I don't want Rooney to leave the pitch without a goal. He's trying but the ball just isn't falling for him or his sharpness is off. He just needs to get off the mark and he should be fine.

Good half from us so far. Don't stop there.

Nani? Really?

He is going to be the difference maker this season, he's been bright so far, do not take him off Alex ;)

Bright? No. lively -yes. Though I expect him to be moved to the right and do better as usually.

Rooney is not match fit. He is not playing shite by a long shot.

My point wasnt about Rooney's fitness, its about being a twat towards an important player of ours very unnecessarily, particularly when said player is someone who thrives on confidence. It doesnt help at the start of the season.

Valencia has undone himself a few times, losing the ball under his own feet. He did excellently for Berba's goal but he's not been himself down the wing. Yet.

He didn't have the ball for the first 25 minutes. I forgot he was playing. We normally give him the ball more than this.

Plenty of time for that to happen for him this season, would rather rest and get him fully fit.

Have to admit put like that , sounds like a good idea

Ok half time review, Valencia looks slightly off the pace, which is odd considering how he did against chelsea but to be expected after a long time off football. Great tracking back though for the first goal.

Nani and Evra are tearing the poor right back apart. Rooney definitely needs minutes, Berba is working hard and i shall claim it's down to the haircut. Evra looks very sharp, Scholes is very good at playing football and Fletcher is getting himself about and passing it around well.

Barton looks like a 1930's conman, Carroll is tall and Enrique is as poor as i remember.

As poor as he has been, Rooney looks more impressive tonight then at the World Cup. Jesus.

SSN keep banging on about Carroll's header, as well as SS1. Shut up! lolol.

a couple of poor balls from Nani was what he was frustrated with. He desperately wants to score. btw Nani's confidence is not that fragile. :)

Well when it does fall for Rooney he's struggling today.

That goal Fletcher scored, Rooney would have scored any time last season pre injury.

But we should keep him on and get him a goal somehow.

Love how Berba chose to pass to him rather than chip the keeper which he easily could have done. Real team man.

To be fair Neville's is pretty shit too

Just had an interesting stats thing on my stream. doing comparisons of players. 2 goalkeepers etc best was they compared Smith and Scholes. Passes made. Scholes: 39 Smith: 8

Have you played football before? Do you know the amount of time you have when you get into such positions? The penalty spot is the default for easy goals.

It was a poor ball because he did not look up. Surely the first thing you are taught in football is to LOOK UP! What has the centre circle got to do with anything?
I meant the penalty spot. Bad translation to English on my part. Sorry.

Played for years and now I coach. What about you? You didn't mention the penalty spot as the default position - you banged on about the centre circle :wenger: No wonder I didn't have a Scooby what you were going on about

Sorry again, my fault. That was a really :wenger: from me
