Can anyone name me a world class player as clumsy and as inconsistent with fundamental footballing skills as Welbeck?

Even though he did very well in that situation, I bet you'd find it difficult listing 5 similar scenarios spreading across the past couple of months for example.

I didn't mean it in a nasty way by the way - I just wish he stuck to what he does best. I admire he may be trying to improve it, but it just doesn't seem to come naturally to him.

To be fair, I don't think we can call Welbeck world class?

And as for the bit in bold... Wayne Rooney! Though he has been fantastic tonight.

Kevin Phillips commentating on this game for Sky 3D is absolutely fecking brutal. About 5 times already he's said an attacker has had a defender "on toast". He must know no other lines. Why the feck is it different commentary, this is shocking.
