Manchester United vs. Newcastle United

Lou Macari is saying there doesn't seem to be any leaders out there and they aren't showing any fight or pride. He said you cannot imagine any of these playing getting into that dressing room and having a go at each other. Maybe that is what they need, one of the players have the guts to say how it is.

The lack of any creativity in CM is the key, and we don't have one of those players. Add to that the totally inconsistent team selections, and it means we are incohesive and struggling to link our play. Rooney's absence was glaring today as he's by dropping deep he's the only player who will link the play.

Is there anyone that actually didn't see that coming at half time?

This really has been a dismal performance. We are hardly creating any chances and just don't look like doing anything half the time.

While good to see Zaha get a chance in the first team, he really was rubbish today.

hahaha He certainly was. With Welbeck on the bench and a goal needed he stays there. With his £28 million signing also staying there. Jesus! He really doesn't believe in him, does he?

I wasn't upset with, Jones. I thought Jones some fire. Cleverley's play, on the other hand, has really disappointed me in so many ways.

Yeah, they were. Really poor. Showed next to feck all support and left early, when the chips were down. Typical only sing when we're winning crowd. Was glad to see some real supporters stand up an berate the leaving horde, whist still cheering on their team.

I never understand the leaving early, even if we lose or play bad like today, I always stay still until the end.
Bollocks to the I leave early to escape the traffic, it does not happen you still get stuck i traffic.

Get to feck. If that's trying...

Who didn't try?

Did De Gea let the ball go in? Was it Rafael? Did Jones not put any effort in? Zaha? Nani? Adnan? Van Persie? Or even Hernandez? Come on, which title winning player went out there today with the attitude of 'I don't give a feck?' Was it Vidic, perhaps? You know, that guy who nearly broke his nose.

Come off it. Today's it's more clear than ever that the lads are playing without a clue and that all stems from the training ground.

Moyes wasn't even negative today. His subs, in theory, we're also spot on.

fecking need to sign Keano back for half a season.

Agree with that, you support your team to the final whistle.

top 4 side? No right now we are a 9th place side, the table does not lie, the way we are playing we are a 9th place side. Now do we have players capable of being better? yes of course, but they need to pull their heads out of their ass and be better.

Mate, the management team are clearly fecking this up. I agree the table doesn't lie and you'll see i've said the players need to take responsibility, but they're clearly not happy at the management either. As I say, Chelsea under AVB were just as bad and they weren't a terrible squad and once they sacked AVB and brought someone capable of running Chelsea, the results improved.

Too many posters are saying we need a clear out of players. Which imo is utter tripe. We also won't spend big in January when the management team are under performing. Only way I can see us buying big is if we sack Dave and bring someone else in.

i couldn't agree more. all this Moyes bashing misses a fundamental point. those players were shocking today.

You don't remember? It was a terrible performance

To be honest with you even though I'm 42 and have been following United since I was a young teen I cant remember how we played in that game, but I'm comparing the same players/mantality under 2 different managers, you're comparing the same football club 25 years apart under 2 managers.

Nevermind Keano playing, just have him in that dressing room at half time, they wouldn't bloody dare play like that.

Yep that's what I meant. The only person I can see having a go at the players is Rooney. The rest have no balls.

Seriously? You're trying to argue this? Did we even get a decent attack except for the offside goal? At 60 minutes when Newcastle scored, several other posters have stated that they knew we'd lose (me included), there was no fight today. You're completely blind if you think so. Van Persie wasn't running, okay he was unfit, sparred. Zaha, sparred as he was trying, Nani completely lost after the goal, didn't want to take the ball. Adnan fouled persistently, didn't make any runs after that goal.

Why have you picked only those? Did you not notice we didn't have a central midfield after the goal?

For 20+ minutes, it was: Long ball from Vidic, cleared by Newcastle defender whose team wasted 5 minutes. Rinse and repeat. They didn't try today. No one wanted the ball after the goal except for Zaha.

Did they play for each other? Did they play as a team?

Only saw the 2nd half).. Started well, created chances after another, not clear-cut though and then they score and we didn't seem to find the spark to go hard at them.. The last 15mins were atrocious, I think it was clear that some players were starting to fear the loss which is the worst fealing to have when chasing the game.

Good thing is the next game is not the League, win the UCL group and then go to Villa with a purpose: Not just the three points but a statement that we're not done yet..

And why does a team go from winning the title to having no fight?

It's the manager.

Eight home matches, eight goals scored. Normally, they'd have about 20. Who'd have though goals at home would have been that poor.

Fellaini wasn't on the bench.

You're answering your own questions. Why is Vidic pumping the ball up the field? Why hasn't there been an identity instilled into the team so that the players are tight and offer each other options. Like I said, this is all down to the manager and his philosophy. You still haven't told me which player was intentionally not trying. There wasn't one, they just don't know what to do.

Not saying the manager is/isn't at fault, but come on.

Take the ball, run, feckING RUN, towards the opposition goal, go the the byline, cross. Rinse and repeat. It shouldn't even come from the training ground, that's basic age 5 football.

Well, if the players are not interested, why bother with the fans?

There was no chance of last minute scoring and even miracles are not possible, understandable disinterested fans. More games like this and no one would bother turning up!

I'm sorry but that's bollocks.

Supporting a club isn't just about celebrating the wins, when the chips are down it is our job to stay there and get behind the lads as much as we can, no wonder old trafford is like a fecking graveyard!

They were running. They ran and got crowded out by 4 Newcastle players. Then they lose the ball due to the lack of options. They're clueless in this static set up.

I thought on the whole United didnt play that badly. It just seems that as soon as they get near the box their play just falls apart as teams crowd them out. Teams know how to play against us now and we try the same tactics game in game out. Teams just crowd around our players and dont let them play... which is good if your an opposition fan. Uniteds build up play at times is excellent but today we had no luck. The lineswoman spots an amazing call for offside but does not see a blatant handball preventing a certain goal?

Usually would agree. But the fecking lads are not involved. They are more disinterested than fans. I don't mind a hard fought defeat, all I ask for is a fight. Insipid displays like today are not acceptable. Stop blaming fans as they have already spent hard earned money and do not deserve lackadaisical performances.

I'm not blaming the fans, we were poor today and the fans do deserve better. But I don't understand paying all the money that we do and then leaving at 1-0 with 10 minutes to go. We all need to stand up and be counted, players, fans, manager...all of us, we're in this togeather.

United fans booing.
To clear this up only a small section from the south the stretty clapped the team off. Moyes looked fecking devastated walking to the tunnel. Hes always the first down it as well. Feel for him he needs our support.
