Cleverley we saw at the beginning of 11-12 season would be a good squad player under Van Gaal. He'd play box to box in Van Gaal's 3-men midfield with a holding player and a playmaker beside him. Don't know what happened to Tom. I refuse to believe it's just that injury he suffered at Bolton.

I agree. He started that season so well and ultimately look a future starter for seasons to come. This season has been tough on him, being told to play another way and not his usual game. Would like to see him get some game time before the season is out and left to play his way.

Which is exactly what Brendan Rodgers has been doing with Henderson this season.

He was good last season imo, tired toward the end of the season but it was his first full season for us and he was being used as a starter. Everyone else gets the excuse of Moyes but Cleverley is just called shit.

I am unbelievably excited. Cannot wait to see Giggs on the touchline, looking suave as feck. Yes, I have a man crush.

Just watched Class of 92, which has got me in the mood for this game - it would be amazing to get some of that quality and standards back into this United team

I have a feeling we'll see Young and Valencia on the wings.

Don't care who starts as long as they perform, to many team sheets have looked good on paper this season and then miserably failed to produce on the pitch.

Confirmed:

De Gea; Jones, Vidic (c), Ferdinand, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Kagawa; Welbeck, Rooney.

I remember Giggs making his debut, now he is about to pick his first team

Amazing isn't it?

Fully expecting a 442 with Rooney in behind Welbeck and Valencia and Adnan on the wings. Giggs is trained the arts of Ferguson, whether we like that or not.

Put line up in my above post. Buzzing now!

Do you think we will go 4-4-2 with the 2 wingers or 4-2-3-1 with

Valencia Mata Young
...........Rooney

After the recent speculation, I can't see Danny being left out, especially as Giggs is our manager. Therefore, personally I would take out Young and put in Welbz.

I can see the "just-go-and-enjoy-yourself-lads" team talk doing ok for the remainder of the season, but no matter how good Giggs is at impersonating SAF i don't think he has the tactical knowledge to actually take on the bigger teams in Europe.

Saying that i'm sooooo excited for the game today

Poor Mata. That's pretty much the team SAF picked in his last season.

No Mata?
