Manchester United vs. Queens Park Rangers

This is such a stupid fecking post. If he isnt fit enough, why does Fergie allow him to be even close enough to the first team? He fined Rooney for being shite in training after a night on the beer, so if Ando isnt doing his best to maintain his fitness, rewarding him with a place in the side isnt somethnig fergie would do.

the amount of ground he covers centrally is unreal,a box-to-box midfielder is a tough role to play for anyone.

If you don't think he has fitness issues you don't know much about football. He asked to come off a few weeks ago because he was exhaused and I am an Anderson fan I think talent wise he could be the best central midfield player in the premier league but its clear what holds him back and that is the ability to a stay injury free and b get through 90 minutes. I never ever saw Roy Keane asking to come off.

Substitutions changed the game. That or scholes getting a yellow forcing him to come off. Young is shite, welbeck is not a winger, fletcher not ready yet. Van Persie and Rooney didn't have much luck today, Rooneys passing at times was brilliant though.
On the plus side, Anderson was brilliant when he came on, as was Hernandez. Also scholes is banned for the next game, meaning one of cleverley/Anderson have to play :)

Spent roughly 90 minutes trying to find a decent stream - thanks for the PMs, lads!

Overall, another deficit overturned. Puzzling midfield selection though.

Glad Fletch has lasted 90 minutes. He really needed this game. Welcome back lad.

am absolutely delighted for him, he made my day.

Unlike many on here who will now argue the toss, because he proved them there opinions wrong.

Pretty sad when they are supposedly 'fans'.

Posted in the 1st half that people couldn't expect too much from Fletch today, but he did us proud.

We were a joy to watch after getting the goal and after Anderson came on. We'll be back to Giggs and Carrick midweek.

Great to see Hernadez score again :D

ever heard of 'mental' tiredness, or that rare skill of being able to concentrate til 90 mins?

I invite you to watch the replays on the two corners. Fatigue, whether physical or mental, is not what did QPR in on either goal. The boys have clearly worked on corners in practice this season. This has to be our fifth or sixth, at least.

QPR were still flying bodies everywhere inside their penalty box to keep the score down late in the game. Give them massive credit for brave defending all 90+ minutes. They lost, but they can hold their heads high.

Big, big difference between match fit and normal training fitness. If he isnt played regularly enough he will never be at optimal fitness eitherway.

Ando covers a shitload of ground, of course he will tire. But to say "oh he has fitness issues" is not the actual answer. As I said, if he wasnt at a good level of fitness he wouldnt be close to the side.

Who got the Man of the Match award? Has to be Anderson.

God you're fecking unbearable. I'm sure if you asked Darren Fletcher what he thought of himself today, he'd tell you straight "I was fecking shite in the 1st half".

Posted in the 1st half that people couldn't expect too much from Fletch today, but he did us proud.

Which is how I viewed his selection today. To stand any chance of getting back to what he once was, he needs to be tested. And in that development curve, he will gradually reacquire the strength and fitness required for the top levels.

Given that, he did very well today, even not accounting for the goal. However that goal will remind him what it feels like to be a match wnner for us and continue to motivate him. SAF is managing his transition back to top flight football to perfection.

Beautiful story emerging here. I so hope he can do it, but if he can't, its not through lack of application on his part.

The first 20 minutes of the second half was as poor as we have been all season, the subs made the difference by adding much needed energy and tempo to our play. Still worrying times when we make such hard work of beating the worst team in the league at Old Trafford.

Buy this man a drink!

The substitutions changed everything. They brought energy and confidence. That said, it's obvious now the boys are working on corners, perhaps to make up for a lack of confidence in our open play.

I'm very worried about Young now. He was worse than awful, though it did look like he shoved to the ground in the first half.

Unbearable because your posts have been proven to be totally off the mark?

Can't do anything about that Im afraid.

Its almost like you want us to lose, just so you can be proven right. I really cant be arsed.

seriously? What the feck is wrong with you? of course I want us to win, pointing out where we're going wrong isn't the same as wanting us to lose.

We're scraping through games at the moment, thats a good thing but it doesn't mean that we're actually good enough to compete with City in the long term. The next Norwich is just around the corner unless we improve in midfield or out wide.

Anderson, when fit and on form fits most of what we're missing in midfield but is inconsistent and has poor endurance.

:wenger:

Ok its not a problem for a player who is 24 years old to ask to come of multiple times I may add, bonkers!

He should take a leaf out of Rafeals book and work so he doesn't tire as easily if you notice over the last twelve months Rafeal has improved this area of his game so much he now plays every match for us. Thats what Anderson needs to do. If he can do that he can be the best central midfield player in the league. I know your called mr Anderson but you need to take the tinted specs off.

Direct me to my posts which were "totally off the mark".

I think I said about two things during the match today.

I said Fletcher was diabolical in the first half, which he was.
I said we'd win the game. Which we did.

We never 'scraped' through this game.

We won it comfortably, no matter if QPR scored first.

Totally agree. It's one thing to see the glass half full, but it's quite another thing to be deluded. We were poor in the last third in the first half. Fletcher knows there's room for improvement in his play, but you gotta love how he got up for that brilliant header for the go-ahead goal, effectively the match-winner.

In your opinion. He was nothing like 'diabolical'. Hence you were very wrong.

Stop wasting your time. I don't think he understands the difference.

Let him keep burying his head in the sand though.....

Actually, I watched the matrix when I registered and hence my username.

rafael has played games week in, week out not. that is called match fitness. you can work out all you want in the gym and at training, the tempo is that much higher in the league. you need regular game time to be at your peak to be fair.

He was just as bad as the average Carrick game of late, but out of all 11 players not one anyone should have expected any more from.

Im out of this thread.

Too many loony views looking for a e-fight, even though we comfortably won and are top of the table.

Bye!

In the first half it looked like nothing was going to happen for us, and it didn't. It looked like we were just passing the ball around and then losing it occasionally, we didn't look like creating much either however I am not sure what the statistics will tell you. It was not good enough in the first half and we definitely needed changes and thankfully they came at the right time for us. Anderson sparked us and got us going and from the second goal onwards we were very consistent, hitting them with counter attacks and the likes. On comes Powell and he hits that back heel, from that moment on you knew they wouldn't come back because we were totally in control. Hernandez should have got that assist to Rafael and overall it wasn't the greatest game but we did our job.

In your opinion. He was nothing like 'diabolical'. Hence you were very wrong.

Yes he was, it's not even up for debate, it was a masterclass in how not to play in central midfield. He scored and improved significantly in the 2nd half and he deserves credit for that.

We won it comfortably, no matter if QPR scored first.

We got 2 goals from corners and pulled away yes.

Look at our results this season. Very few games have been won comfortably, most sides have given us serious problems in the game.

The Norwich result was coming and the next one is around the corner if we don't fix the problems in midfield, and our wide players don't come into form.

A tale of two halfs. What we have to figure out is how to play good football in both halfs. We got the win today, fully deserved too, but we need to figure out how to put in better work in the first half.

Enjoy the victory pint, amigos, and settle in for the drama later this weekend!

I don't know if "diabolical" is the right word, but if you're suggesting Fletcher was poor in the first half, I wouldn't disagree.

But keep in mind the road he's traveled over the last few years.
