Valencia's dribbling around our box, albeit good, highlights the difference in the players' confidence in PIG/VDS. He had like three opportunities to pass it back to PIG, but wouldn't because his kicking is dodgy. That, for me, is the main reason why I wouldn't want PIG to be VDS's successor.

I'm not saying he didn't say that. But since when do we take what Fergie says face value? He's shown last season he'll use a very much weakened lineup at home matches in the Group stage, you can bet your life he was itching to give squad players a game. We've got so many, and we will need them.

Nope, I don't believe Saturday's match had much bearing on tonight's lineup. But since Saturday did happen, there's nothing wrong with giving the players a little kick up their backside with a few carefully chosen words. They still would have been on the bench or in the stands anyway.
