Manchester United vs. Reading FC - Sun 12/08/2007 (16:00 BST)

As I said, people should learn to keep their noses out of things if they have nothing to say relevant to the thread title.

Sorry, I should clearly keep my nose out of this very private thread, which is clearly none of my business.

Well, there is that, but, as you said, it doesn't really count for much. This is the next match of any importance.

Not around here..........check out the Portugal vs Israel thread............

"Nani kicks the ball"
"Great 2 yard pass by Nani"

Wait until the Copa America......................

He sounds like the boy in the corner begging for some attention.

Nobody can have anything relevant to say regarding the thread title. The game is about two months away, how can we comment on anything to do with the match when we have no clue about what the squads will be as pre-season hasn't even started yet and we're in the middle of the transfer window.

Literally the only things there are to say about the match have been posted by you in the OP. All that's left for us to do is call you a spastic and ask for the thread to be deleted. You may think we're ruining your thread or whatever but really you brought it upon yourself.

Excellent reply

The Speaker is a fecking spazzer

The game will get moved to the Sunday at 4pm (Sky) , because i think that's when the Champions usually play the first game

In 2003 United(as champions) played Bolton on Saturday at 3. Having said that i'd expect this game to be moved, but not necessarily to Sunday(hope not as there'll be a tough game on the Tuesday night away to Pompey)

i hate sunday 4pm kick offs, league games should bet on saturday 3pm kick offs

bollocks, why change the fecking date and the time as well.

so we play aginst Reading on 12th and Pompey away on 14th of august?

I disagree, the next match of importance is United v Chelsea on Sept 22nd IMO.....That's just it, isn't it, IMO......Anarchy
We have rules here for many reasons...and one of them is to stop feckwits like you from messing around with us.

FFS! The chelsea match is definitely not the next important game, its worth as many points as any other game in the league, the only advantage is we take points from chelsea if we win.

ALL LEAGUE GAMES ARE IMPORTANT.

P.S. :muppet: in this thread, torres... .

Too right manx.

Treat every game like it's the most important one.

For instance, the Chelsea match might not have any importance if we were to lose all the games running up to it.....

I will like this team

Foster

Gaz - Rio - Vidic - Evra

Ronaldo - Hargreaves - Scholes/Carrick - Giggs/Nani

Rooney - Tevez

Not going to happen.

1) because Foster is injured
2) because Van der Saar is far better than Foster

If you read the posts you'll see that this is about the original comment of Weastie, ie "Well, there is that, but, as you said, it doesn't really count for much. This is the next match of any importance." (referring to the Reading game)
In his opinion. In my opinion its the Chelsea game. In someone else's opinion it's the Charity Shield. Chaos.
The next game is against Urawa Red Diamonds. That is the only game that should have a matchday thread here. Otherwise we have chaos and anarchy.

Will be interesting to see what team we'll play in this game, thus far we've adopted a 4-4-2 in pre season but assuming that Saha & Ole wont be fit for the opening game and Tevez wont be signed should we go with Rooney with Giggs behind him upfront who would then play on one of the wings?

Would we stick Fletch out on the right with Ronnie on the left? Or would we dare throw Nani in at the deep end? Had Park been fit then this wouldn't really be an issue but he's not so it is

Or regardless of the 4-4-2 in pre season could we go with a 4-5-1/4-3-3 with Hargreaves in the midfield with both Giggs and Ronaldo supporting Rooney?

Intriguing stuff.....

This could well be the team , if you take foster out due to his injury , scholes doesn't look likely to play so carrick will be there , and Giggs will start and the Tevez one depends if we get him before then :p

My predicted team is as follows.....

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Nani
CM: Fletcher
CM: Carrick
LM: Ronaldo

CF: Giggs
CF: Rooney

I'm going with us to run out 3-1 winners, Ronaldo from the spot, Nani and Ole from the bench with our goals. Lita for them.

This thread was a total joke... Matchday threads should be create one day before kick off

To be fair I think it's a good idea to create them a week before hand so we're got a thread to talk about the game during the week

Having seen the games today I think the starting line up on Sunday will look like this:

............................VDS.........................
Brown.........Rio................Vidic........Evra
Nani...........Carrick..........Scholes.......Giggs
...............Ronaldo............Rooney

Bench:
O Shea
Silvestre
Fletcher
Hargreaves

--------------------Vds---------------------
Brown--------Rio-----------Vidic---------Evra
Nani------Carrick------Hargreaves-------Giggs
----------Ronaldo-----Rooney----------------

Bench : Tom, O'Shea, Anderson, Scholes, Silvestre or Teveth hopefully.

3-0 : Rooney, Ronaldo x 2.
