Monday 18th February 2013
FA Cup 5th Round
Old Trafford, Manchester
KO: 2005 GMT

De Gea
Smalling Vidic Jones Evra
Valencia Anderson Cleverley Nani
Hernandez Rooney

May I be the first to congratulate ESPN on managing to a) purchase a game of no real interest given it'll be about 4-0 and b) putting it on a Monday night causing Reading supporters immense inconvenience to go and see their inevitable defeat.

Yeah, that was the one that took me the longest to put in there. I think we'll have someone up there with Hernandez though.

We should beat them whoever we put out.

Lindegaard

Rafael
Smalling
Vidic
Buttner

Valencia
Cleverley
Anderson
Giggs
Nani

Hernandez

-----------Hernandez----------

Play Kagawa for sure he needs games, Young will be fit for this and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start instead of either Nani or Valencia. Iv put Evans at left back, Buttner might start but either way id rest Evra.

it certainly is of interest to us.

at the least we are going for the Double. We will be resting our main strikers. so it is no given...

Team should be...

GK: Lindegaard

RB: Rafael
CB: Smalling
CB: Vidic
LB: Buttner

RM: Nani
CM: Anderson
CM: Cleverley
LM: Young

CF: Rooney
CF: Hernandez

Subs: De Gea, Evans, Scholes, Giggs, Valencia, Welbeck, RVP

I see no reason why we should go OTT on resting players, FA Cup is still massively important to us this season and we dont want a replay

de Gea

Jones
Smalling
Vidic
Buttner

Valencia
Cleverley
Anderson
Nani

Kagawa
Hernandez

SUBS: Lindegaard, Ferdinand, Scholes, Giggs, Young, Rooney, van Persie.

Something like that I imagine.

Lots of rest for this one... I'm looking forward to a game I can relax watching....

Definately no Rooney, Van Persie, Carrick or Evra, they could use the rest. Nani, Anderson, Kagawa and Hernandez need games.

Lindegaard and Young will start surely.

The moment when Anders is starting to get annoyed comes closer, because of his nose picking.

De Gea
Jones Smalling Vidic Buttner
Valencia Anderson Cleverley Nani
Giggs
Hernandez

Something like this would give the players who haven't started recently an opportunity although I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of the players who started tonight, not sure who.

Agreed. Some of the evening games this season have been horrendous for supporters.

Hernandez and Welbeck (if fit) please.

I think it will be a good game, Reading are feisty and are having a decent run, it's an ideal set up for a cup tie as we will surely rest a few players.

I'm hoping for.

Lindegaard

This game seems so irrelevant in comparison to today
Anyways, can see wholesale changes.

Lindegaard
Jones Smalling Vidic Buttner
Valencia Cleverley Anderson Nani
Kagawa

This being at Old Trafford, hoping for a nice and easy win.
What a strong team considering almost everyone who played today isn't in that lineup
We've got great depth.

I think this rests a few key players while giving game time to a couple who could do with it while staying very strong and should be too much for Reading at Old Trafford and hopefully Rooney can come off after a hour or so. Thought about resting De Gea but I think his time at United has shown he plays much better when we just keep him playing.

And lets not forget when saying to rest everyone that we have got a huge lead in the league and this is still the FA Cup which we haven't won for 9 years.

This game gives us the opportunity to rest some of the players that took part in the champions league encounter against Real. I expect that De Gea, Rafael, Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, and Rooney won’t be involved in the upcoming FA cup match.

We must win the Cup, I want a strong team!

Rooney never needs to rest, and seemingly neither do Evra of Rafael. I'm fine with whoever we play at CB for this one.

Surely Cleverely should come back into the team, and I'd like to think Anderson is the obvious choice to partner him in midfield.

Wingers should be the hardest to guess, any of Young, Nani, Valencia or Welbeck could start. After such a good game, and not playing much recently, I'd like to see Welbeck start again. And SAF usually gives those returning from injury a sub appearance before they get a start, so likely Young will come off the bench at most.

Hopefully we do this this without Persie, Cheech has been on a tear lately and should be more than enough of a threat up front to win the game. However, Persie has shown he can play twice in a week back to back, so if he starts that's fine with me.

Keep DDG in goal and give him the games till the rest of the season. The rest of the team pick itself being the reserves and players who need a game, Kagawa, Buttner, Chicha, Young and Nani the obvious ones

Play strongest possible team except for RVP and Rio. Leave them on the bench together with Powell and one or two more youngsters. The lads will already had enough rest after yesterday. Plenty of time before QPR game as well.

No doubt Evra and Carrick will get a break.

This doesn't make sense to me.Buttner is a LB and also played when Evra hasn't and yert you put Evans in your formation
