Manchester United vs. Southampton

At least we don't have to listen to macManny any more. Can't stand that cnut.

3 points. Second half was embarrassing.

Anyway, 7 points in the top of the table is not that bad.

3 points in the bag and a 7 point gap. Good times. That second half display was nothing short of embarrassing though.

I didn't get a stream for this match and on Sky Sports, Paul Walsh is doing this match and by the sounds of it we were fairly comfortable. Some contrast to this thread.

Dunno what game he was watching. We genuinely couldn't string more than a couple of passes together at a time.

Glad it's over, and a very good result considering the second half performance. Could've gone very wrong.

I suppose a few of these should be expected tonight. I'm betting on Noodlehair to have a big rant.

Dreadful performance!! SAF trying to fit too many forwards into midfield positions. Kagawa may have looked good in the first half but he couldn't keep it in the second and wasn't helping out Evra by chasing back. Danny is not a midfielder and every time he plays there he looks like a fish out of water.

that was a nasty nasty second half, to be fair Southampton deserved a point.

Despite all there pressing they hardly ever came close to scoring. We had the best chance in the second half.

We have a problem against high pressing. I don't know how we are going to address that.

You completely miss the point. Putting Cleverley in for Anderson wouldn't make a blind bit of difference because the game has barely been played in the centre. You need to make a change to win the battle in the area's it is being played before addressing the area you would like it to be played. That is basic tactics.

If you don't want to argue with me, take it up with Fergie, he recognised exactly what I did and made the change I suggested.

Yes, I'm the one missing the point while you continue to ignore every single point being made. Cleverley was the OBVIOUS choice. So what if you called the same decision as what SAF made? That doesn't make it the right decision. Nani changed feck all and we continued to be forced back. You bring Cleverley on INSTEAD and there's a good chance he takes control of that game, gives us more possession and energy around the center which ultimately calms the game and every play surrounding him.

You're trying to argue the choice to bring on Nani for our best player and it's a pretty shit argument when we've just witnessed that it did nothing what so ever for us. But hey, you continue to try to act like you're some tactical genius and I know feck all.

Welbeck did all right in flashes, but you're right; he's not a midfielder.

Chelsea game finished. Wonder what are saying all those deluded Scousers who thought that Chelsea will win the title this year.

Despite all there pressing they hardly ever came close to scoring. We had the best chance in the second half.

We have a problem against hard pressing. I don't know how we are going to address that.

Getting somebody to partner Carrick might help.

Man that was a painful second half. United need to figure out how to play when Carrick gets taken out of the game like he did today.

i think matchday threads can be over the top and a bit embarrasing but we were far from comfortable tonight.

I think it's just one of those weeks. All around us draw so a win is brilliant.

Now lets make it 10 points!

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare game reading this thread, a load of posters were going for us scoring 5 or 6 earlier on.

Southampton made a couple of changes at half-time and really took the game to us. We just couldn't keep the ball. They neutralised Carrick and that really impacted us.

Good grief that was hard work.I reckon that's what hell will be like, watching United unable to string 2 passes together and Macmanaman wittering in the background.
But we won and that's what matters, 7 points clear.

Nice of you to be positive!I'm a little pissed at the display, so it cheers me up seeing someone positive about this..
