Manchester United Vs Southampton

I'm starting to think Fellaini might be one of those players who struggle under the pressure at a big club, because he's certainly better than what he's shown so far.

Fellaini clearly has no confidence at the moment because i know he's capable of much more than that.

Ridiculously bad at passing. Luckily that's not a midfielders main job.

Moyes should be telling the team to give the ball to the monkey at half time. (januzaj)

Fellaini goes in once again and once again fails to win the ball.

He just ambles along.

What happened to the terrifying Fellaini who...um...terrified us?!?

Wtf is Fellaini doing? Absolutely shocking display

Moyes has to take him off.

I'm not really sure quite what he brings to us. I'm not criticising because I think he's a decent player but we're better than most of the teams we play but he doesn't move the ball quickly enough and he's not creative enough to significantly help us against those type of sides while I'm not convinced he's of the standard to bring us any closer to the very best sides in Europe. He's a good player mind, and we were short of numbers in midfield.

Fellaini is looking a bit like a player who's just there to fill the team sheets. I'm really not liking the look of Moyes' first signing.

The funny thing is that certain posters only ever make a comment about Fellaini when he makes a mistake but never pipe up with his good things and in ths game there have been some good things. Then the rest of the sheep start to chime in because all people are looking for are the mistakes. A few moments ago there was a lovely bit of skill and a turn and perfectly weighted pass under pressure to Adnan and nobody said boo.

What's up with Fellaini ? He's a soft tackler for a big guy, can't pass and he doesn't attack.

Tight game this. Given Southampton's form, their win at Anfield you have to say any kind of win is a good result for us today.

Even Fellaini's size is counting for nothing today. Love to see him prove me wrong, or repay the hopes many have in him, but not seeing 'it' from Fellaini.

Marouane needs to take his slippers off.

Fellaini is fecking awful. I was saying it all along, hoped we didn't sign him because he isn't any better the cleverley in the middle. He looked good playing for Everton last season because of their tactics and them lumping it up to him when he played as a #10. He shouldn't be anywhere near the united team.

That why I don't understand kids not getting more of a chance for teams. They don't have that fear in them at that age.

Yeah I agree, I guess they want to see that standout quality at youth/reserves level. It should look like he has so much time at that level and it does, Macheda got his chance because he was so prolific at youth level.

Wonder if Southampton will suffer after chasing down everything this half

Decent enough first half, well taken goal.
The only down for me is Fellaini, he is just not in the game.
I like him but he just has not settle down the way I expected him to do, not sure how lang he can keep his place on this form.

Pretty average performance so far. Good to see we are creating more chances against an in-form soton defence. The only poor part of the first half performance is how we keep coughing up the ball on the edge of our own area when under pressure. Fellaini and Rooney are the main culprits.

Have to say im a bit disappointed with Fellaini as im not sure what he brings to the squad. He has been outmuscled by wanyama on several occasions and is not a great passer of the ball either. As far as shielding the back four he is average at best and it just annoys me when he jogs around when he needs to sprint and track back.

Lively performance from our wingers and strikers though. Rooney unlucky not to get a second goal. We really need to pressure soton more and dominate the possession.

I think Fellaini is just trying to play it safe with short passes and not being too aggressive in the tackle, but it obviously isn't working out for him.

I know people do not want to see him play as an 'attacking midfielder' but I think he should get a few games there just to show what he can do for us in that position.

We all know Fellaini is better than that first half performance, right?..

Moyes half time team talk:

Moyes: Here, Have a snickers
Fellaini: Why?
Moyes: You're not the same player when you're getting pressed
Fellaini: Better?
Moyes: Errm, here, have another one.

Good game. Fellaini probably getting a lot of stick in here but Carrick has been as bad. Pretty much everyone else playing well apart from them two. Could maybe do with an extra body in the middle.
