Manchester United Vs Southampton

I didn't think he was that bad but he does need to do more, at least show more energy anyway to his play. Slightly concerning fellaini and evra on the same side, both can be a bit casual and sometimes take too long to make a pass, especially an issue with Southamptons pressing.

Some good flashes so far, think we need to switch the play to the right a bit more, look like we can get in there.

Adnan's like a younger RVP.

Fellaini honestly wasn't that bad.

Fun fact of the day. Fellaini has had the most touches and must successful pass percentage out of all the 4 central midfielders on the show today. Looks like we've got a new scapegoat.

Adnan has been superb. Nani's looked lively, Carrick has been his usual self. Evans and Jones have done ok in defence, some of Evans' passes have been superb.

Hopefully we get a 2nd goal early and give Hernandez/Zaha/Kagawa some minutes.

There was one stage about 5 minutes before half time where Fellaini was under no pressure and instead of passing to Januzaj he bizarrel kicked the ball about 10 yards in front of him, straight out for a throw and subsequently rubbed his 'fro in frustration. Summed up what's been a shocking display from him - again.

One goal because of Januzaj and RVP but our tactic and style of play is miles after Southampton. They represent the new modern way and we continue with our slow, static and pedestrian style. When will we learn?

Moyes half time team talk:

Moyes: Here, Have a snickers
Fellaini: Why?
Moyes: You're not the same player when you're getting pressed
Fellaini: Better?
Moyes: Errm, here, have another one.

That is beyond terrible

Your tapatalk is talking shite.

That may be one of the worst posts I have ever seen on here.

The funny thing is that certain posters only ever make a comment about Fellaini when he makes a mistake but never pipe up with his good things and in ths game there have been some good things. Then the rest of the sheep start to chime in because all people are looking for are the mistakes. A few moments ago there was a lovely bit of skill and a turn and perfectly weighted pass under pressure to Adnan and nobody said boo.

Stack I like Fellaini but he has been dreadful that half in possession, no matter what good thing/s he has done that half it was outdone with his passing.

This could be one case where a pre-season with your new team mates may have helped. I hate last day signings, when the season is already up and running.

Indeed, we were always going to sign him so why didn't we just pay his release clause? Leave money aside, I don't care we also ended up paying more, we've gone and spent more than 20M on a chap who was bound to be hard to fit in and the timing turns him into a complete misfit. feck me.

What happened to Fletcher a number of years ago is happening to Fellaini. Its uncanny how similar it is.

Nani our best player, Januzaj less involved but moments of quality, especially his through ball that eventually resulted in our goal. Rooney unlucky to hit the bar but otherwise awful. Fellaini looks out of his depth. Rafael surprisingly poor in the final third.

We're winning and have been the better team.

The dickheads here are predictable if nothing else. Really clueless.

We're getting pressurised in the middle by a good side but they keep on talking shite.

Gee, by reading what has been said you would think he has had more unsuccessful than successful and has basically stood and watched the game from the sidelines.

How many times has he simply lost the ball though (tackled etc.)?

We've been a better side than them. For all of their modern style, how many chances have they created apart from the once which Rooney gifted to them?

Just proves how pointless stats can be at times.

Is Januzaj gay? I think he might be, he gives off a gay vibe. I hope he is.

Fellaini doesn't seem to have fast enough feet to keep our play fast and moving and he keeps getting caught on the ball because of this. He is certainly a better player than we are seeing this far, so maybe a case of a rabbit in headlights. Time will tell I suppose, but he's here now so I hope he can improve.

He really was. Takes 3 touches to control the ball, plays a safe pass, sometimes it still manages to go astray

Off the ball he's chasing shadows but still made 4 interceptions so at least thats something. He somehow manages to not come out on top of multiple battles of strength

Reality and perception can be two different things.

He has had the most touches out of all the 22 players on the pitch so far. The highest pass percentage too.

Am I the only one who thinks Fellaini wasn't all that bad in the first half?

Not bad as such, just completely anonymous. Passing stats will probably be fairly high as they're all very short easy balls.
Looks overawed.

It's hard not to keep thinking, 28m on him? Bloody hell.
