Manchester United vs. Sunderland

terrible football and YAWN. Like watching Liverpool, only that they have started playing well apparently.
Looks like we're more dependent on Rooney-Ronaldo than we care to admit. Can't think of any other reason for the poor football we've been served so far this season.

the striker isn't the problem here
it's the pace and effort - absolutely half-arsed

embarassing

Why some are blaming Hargreaves is beyond me, at least he's trying and working very hard. A bigger concern is Scholes' lack of form. We need him so badly though

50 million pound, just to give Fergie the luxury of fecking about with our team, and in the process, making us look like a fecking pub side

Nothing about the line up makes any fecking sense at all. The first half hour nearly had me in tears for christ sake

We need to take more more risks in the final third. For all our possession, we making far too many safe passes in the danger areas.

Also Tevez needs to start attacking the near post a bit more. He keeps drifting out to the back post waiting for a cross, but he's gonna have a hard time winning high balls against the Sunderland CBs. There are definitely gaps there to exploit if he'd only look for them. He's playing like a second striker 'cos he is one, tbf.

And Hargreaves has been average at best. He gets the ball, looks up for a second, turns around then passes it back. Occasionally, if he's feeling ambitious, he'll pass it square. He cost us £2m more than Thierry Henry cost Barca.

We lack a target man.

If we dont win today, I'll go out and drink too much booze. If we win, I go out and drink booze, too, and celebrate

I'm not blaming him at all, almost feel a bit sorry. He tries, it's just not working for him at all, never been in the game. I'd bring on Saha for a winger and play Anderson at LW

he needs to do something because fergies tactics and selection are both being exposed by relegation fodder at old trafford no less

what im saying is its harsh for people to critisise him right now, he is playing there out of a lack of options....

he looks as lost as Rooney does when he has been on the left

but then what choice does fergie have?

Ah. now I agree with you. Sorry, thought you were having a pop at Fergie for playing him out of position.

It's worrying how we are playing. The back line is passing the ball beautifully amongst themselves. Trouble is they are all playing sideways. Scholes is playing real deep at the back. There's no defense splitting passes coming from anywhere. Teveth is running all over the place but never getting the ball. No wonder he's tired for the last 20 minutes.
Big lack of individual flair in the final third.
I blame the stripe. You can't win things with stripes.

Bring carrick in for eagles. forget that flank...let evra overlap

fecking right n all

Don't think carrick will do the trick...
Better option would be bringing on Saha for hargreaves and dropping anderson to MF. Carrick doesn't have the magic to change the game.

Carrick and Scholes were excellent at opening up defences last season there is no reason to think they can't do it again this season. Carrick towards the end of last season was immense for us alongside scholes and he has the vision and range of passing to open up the defence. Carrick and Saha should come on for Hargreaves and Eagles with Anderson moving left, Nani on the right, Carrick and Scholes in the middle and Tevez and Saha up top, its a bit harsh on Hargreaves but we could always move him to right back and take Brown off instead.

Scholes and Hargreaves seem to be just standing next to each other most of the time. No pace, not many ideas. Evra's the only one who looks like he's trying.

And the Sunderland fans singing YAWN doesn't help.

Hargreaves btw has been amazing in the matches he has played....him and Nani are the best investments we made this season...

So far they look the part and look like exactly what we had paid for. I'm sure they'll have their critics but Hargreaves could be the next Keane-style player for United.

On another note, what the hell is Anderson doing, he looks like he's just running around aimlessly.

We are missing Rooney, Saha and Ronaldo so much it's painfull. Wazza's physic, Ronnies skils and Saha's speed and aerial threat.

At the moment I'm angry at SAF, we did need a striker asap and he didn't react when Rooney was injuried.

I hope Saha will play second half and change this game. This is not good for my heart!!!

Who gives a feck about trying? He can't break Sunderland down, and they know it, thats why they ignore him on the ball and close Scholes down quickly. Atleast with Carrick alongside Scholes Sunderland wouldn't be able to mark just the one player

i give saha 8 mins before hes down on his ass holding his leg or head or arm or something

he needed to bring someone in and didn't

it was very obvious

a short term loan would have done
