Manchester United vs. Sunderland

Well, thank the fk for that. We looked better when Saha came on. Ronny back for next game and maybe Gaz and Rooney too so it's looking up. I know for Uniteda 1-0 against Sunderland doesn't feel like a win but the points are precious right now.

An important win for us and with Ronaldo and Rooney to come back we should start to pick up now. The next two games are Everton away then Chelsea I think and neither will just be content to stay in their own half which should help us.

That sounded like it was harder work than it might have been. Once you have Rooney and Ronaldo back it should make things less stressful, maybe.

How did Carlos do overall?

Van der Sar - 7
Brown - 7
Ferdinand - 7
Vidic - 7
Evra - 8
Eagels - 5
Scholes - 6
Haregraves - 7
Nani - 6
Tevez - 5
Anderson - 5

Saha - 7
Fletcher - 6
O'Shea - 6

Rooney and Saha works so much better.

And Ronaldo playing will give us such a wider option.

Now, didn't we miss Giggs today?

Seconded

They should make the difference. Carlos was average, by all accounts.

Just add Green to your "ignore list". I just ignore everything he does/says. Its like being on the Cafe and adding someone to that Ignore list, you know they are there, but whatever they say/do, you cant see.

As for the game, we still looked shit when Saha came on, BUT importantly he looked like a goal threat. We are missing some direction in our play and movement.

What does everyone here think about pre-seasons tours to the far east, I don't think they ever do us any good tbh.

We got away with a poor performance again. But it's 3 points and we'll have Ronaldo back now and Rooney (hopefully) soon to follow.

VDS: 7 nothing much to do
Brown 4: Kept losing the ball. We'd be better playing Simpson in games like this. At least Simpson is good going forward.
Rio 7: fine
Vidic: 6 a little sloppy at times again
Evra: 8 our main attacking outlet in the first half
Hargreaves: 8 great engine, I pray he can stay fit
Scholes: 7 strangely sloppy at times
Eagles: 5 Let's get real here. He's out of his depth.
Tevez: 6 Looked better with Saha in front (unsurprisingly)
Nani: 6 Decent enough, still need to be patient
Anderson: 6 fair enough game for his first start. We really can't expect to see the best of him for a long time yet.

subs:
Saha: 8 the missing ingredient, vital goal

As said a wins a win more than happy with that. Towards the end of the 2nd half there was some lovely one touch stuff people really looked like they were finding there flow. Saha looked quality and helped Tevez.

With all the players out we have had to just do our best and two wins out of two now Saha back and Ronaldo back next game. Like they say when things arn't going well it's champions who win games. We were solid at the back aswell.

Early days...once he gets an understanding with the likes of Saha, Rooney and Ronaldo he'll fly. Not quite in the same league I know, but when he was eventually partnered by Zamora, thats when it fell into place.

Congrats on the win.

...a knowledgeable hammer :)

Cheers ;)

But I do know what I'm talking about with Carlos...don't expect him to be the front man..it didn't work for us, and he doesn't play like that for Argentina, either.

You have a gem, there...hope he will be appreciated, otherwise there might still be a place for him back with us (but he'll have to battle with Carlton Cole for a spot on the bench!:D)

He didn't get his first goal til February or March last season right?

Yes, that's right...but it wasn't for lack of trying. He was also playing in a team low on confidence and all the pressure of the transfer etc....the moment he scored his first against Tottenham there's was no stopping him.
