The only good thing about that half is that we're only down 1-0 despite playing some of the worst football I've United play in many years.

While normally this kind of post would be an exaggeration of the on the field events, this time it's just about right. That was absolutely pathetic. Shame is what the players should be feeling. It's the kind of performance Burnley would be embarassed of. We've basically wasted 40 minutes to score a goal. Luckily we still have 45 more.

45 minutes at home with not 1 shot on target, 1-0 down, crowd booing.

for feck's sake get Scholes and Welbeck off and replace with Anderson and Valencia.

the team looks tired, has no creative spark and is giving away possession in a manner that most profession players would have to TRY to achieve!

i hope SAF makes changes.

Don't think I'd make any changes though. Just a massive hair-dryer all round, and those players won't dare serve up that again.

Rooney needs to stop shouting at everyone else when he's given the ball away everytime he gets it. Fletcher and Scholes have been abysmal with their distribution. Nani needs to buck up his ideas.

Keep it the same but for now, Anderson, Carrick and Valencia need to start warming up.

Doubt it.

Although, it will be around 4 or 5 - 1 in the second half.

Hmmm, don't think it was THAT bad.......I think we will totally up the tempo in the second half and sunderland will tire...and get more and more nervous as we get to 90 minutes...
 
Why do our defenders keep launching it forward? Not just today, but a lot this season? We've nobody to win the headers. Same with getting crosses in, they have Rio Jr and Turner, who are both better than Berba/Rooney in the air unless they have a lapse.
 
This just goes to show how weak we are in the midfield. Without Giggs this midfield is lost.

For anyone that expects Hargreaves to come back and be the next Ronaldo, could be gravely mistaken, as well. Even when he's fit to play again, it might take a few months for him to get back into the full groove of the squad.
 
That was pathetically poor tbh. Such awful passing, we've been rushing our play too much and need a cool head in the centre to slow things down. Carrick would be the man to come on and keep a little bit more control in the game.

Lets not underestimate the performance of Sunderland mind. They've closed down extremely well and made us look ordinary. We will need 3 goals in the 2nd half to win the game, Bent and Jones look dangerous on the ball.

Right where to start...........

0-1 is actually a great scoreline in the circumstances. A team that could use the ball better would have scored 2 or 3. Poor at the back, non existant in midfield and truely awful going forward.

Not a chance even if Fergie doesnt make any changes that we will be that bad in the second half.

I think Scholes has to be replaced by Carrick. Personally Id leave Welbeck on and let him draw a red card from Richardson (terrible awareness defensively) Nani cant have any complaints if hes replaced either.
 
Yeah it was dreadful, but so have a few of our first half performanes this season. Think positive, we'll come out all guns blazing in the second half, hopefully.

who in the hell said Hargreaves would be the next Ronaldo?

He will be an important piece if we intend on doing something in Europe and domestically.

As far as the game goes the effort is there its just our quality is lacking.

twas from bbc.Can't seem to recall the shot on target myself.

I agree on Scholes should be subbed by Carrick ASAP - that's before he does something stupid and earns himself a red.
 
SAF will have more headaches regarding central midfield now.
 
Absolute rubbish from them, the whole team, even the on-form boys.
