Manchester United vs. Sunderland

Oh bloody hell, we will miss Rafa's attacking displays even against this lot.

#MUFC subs: Lindegaard, Giggs, Chicharito, Vidic, Welbeck, Scholes, Fletcher

Think Rafael is just getting a break before the busy Christmas schedule because he's played just about every game this season, apart from a few. Don't want him to burn out.

*Tries to contain anger at Rafael not being in the team*

Rest of the team is very good. Pleased with that.

Was hoping kagawa would be included somehow, guess we have to hope for next week then.

CONFIRMED MUFC XI:

de Gea

Jones
Ferdinand
Smalling
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Cleverley
Young

Rooney
van Persie

SUBS: Lindegaard, Vidic, Giggs, Scholes, Fletcher, Welbeck, Hernandez.

I consider this a very strong side. Even dropping Rafael for Jones isn't that much of a decline in quality.

We should expect to see a very different side in eight days, three days before Newcastle come to town.

Surprised that rafael has been left out totally. Hopefully just resting him though. Hate to think that he is injured

Good to see Evans getting a break too. Supprised to see RvP starting, would have thought SAF would think this was a good game to give him a break but im not going to complain!

Good side. Rafael gets a nice rest before the hectic Christmas schedule and Jones gets minutes which will help him.

Glad DDG continues in goal.

I was hoping that when Jones and Smalling came back Rafael wouldn't be in and out of the team again because the run of games has helped his form massively. But realistically he's played almost every game in every competition so far this season so needs a rest to make sure that he lasts the season out.

Looks a good team that, thankfully SAF didn't tinker too much with a winning formula. As long as there's no complacency we should win comfortably.

I wonder if this is us looking for to build some form playing this team or whether he is following through on his promise to give them the hiding they deserve.

Expect goals.

We're home to the mighty Sunderland, why on earth would we possibly rest Rafael during a hectic run of fixtures, this a player who has played virtually every game so far this season, and now just when we have our other right back option returning to some kind of fitness and in need of minutes, we rest Rafael! WTF!!! I mean, it makes absolutely NO SENSE!

Respect to SAF and all yeah yeah years of success and all, but this is an absolute DISGRACE. His decisions have cost us big time this season in the big games. This looks to be yet another one unfortunately.

Good team, would be nice to have a other defender but still good. I usually say this but I really hope we start strongly and finish this early with a lot of games coming up it'll be important to rest players as soon as we can, if we keep dragging out matches then we'll have to keep our best players out there longer.

Johnson can trouble Evra.. Sessegnon and Fletcher would be others that can be a trouble.

Their backline doesnt look too good... scoring shouldnt be a problem as long as we dont have a stinker or they park the bus.

We are the better side. We are at home. We should win this.

Very happy with that. Rooney and van Persie to get one each.

Very good team. Rafael gets a well deserved rest.

Sunderland's line-up looks reasonably open. Hopefully this is the case as I feel our wingers are more suited to counter attacking than breaking down a defence.

No white text? He needs a rest. We need back up players at RB with minutes under their belt. Win win situation. Last I looked we were top of the league.

Rooney starts.

Amazing news for my fantasy team. We're gonna rape them, great midfield as well.

I'm pretty sure he is being sarcastic there. He's said why Rafael is being rested in that post and the last sentence or two about this being another mistake in another "big game" is the giveaway.

Rafael is injured according to SSN. Not seen it myself but that's what my old man reckons.

Rest of the team looks good and great to see Vidic back.
