Manchester United vs. Sunderland

suppose if we win and keep Carrick and Cleverley fresh for the Christmas fixtures it's the right call. Just about.

Agreed. I'm not going to shit in my pants if we win the game, everyone comes out healthy and we got in some quality minutes for Vidic, Scholes and Giggs and allowed Carrick to get a few extra minutes of rest.

Out of nowhere this game has started looking like the 4-4 against Everton: Completely open, totally stretched, we attack they attack and from a position of comfort we find ourselves frantically trying to hold on to our lead.

Passing let us down in the Second Half, just didn't keep the ball well enough, disappointed we didn't smash them 5-0.

I missed the first 5 minutes of the second half. Was Carrick injured, or has he just been rested?

Yeah, it's exactly the same incredibly stupid decisions whilst in the lead which cost us the title last year.

Good win on the whole, disappointed we didn't maintain the intensity of the First Half.

For all you Fergie haters out there, this is exactly the kind of game you would put Giggs and Scholes on for.

A comfortable win in the bag = solid management.

"Scandalous management by Sir Alex"?

I've heard it all now. Unless, of course, there's white text I can't see.

Scandalous is harsh, but it has been pretty naive from Fergie to think that Scholes and Giggs was an acceptable midfield two to pick this second half.

Alex Ferguson is at it again. Foolish tactics.
Playing 2 oldies who cannot defend in central mid-field is going to stretch and injure the defenders.
If United were winning 5-0, then it is ok.

3 points, could do without ever seeing that midfield selection for the last 15 minutes again.

Good win, but we should've scored more goals. Some of the passing and movement in the first half was exceptional. The second half was poor, the substitutions didn't help.

Carrick-Cleverley were very good. DDG put in another confident performance. Jones did well filling in for Rafael at RB.
